Oscar Sunday has arrived and 84th annual Academy Awards are hours away.

Work crews were putting the finishing touches on the red carpet and a crowd was beginning to gather near the Hollywood and Highland Center, known until last week as the Kodak Theater.

A bankruptcy judge last week granted the company's wish to drop it's name from the venue, along with a $4 million naming rights payment.

Mother Nature appears to be cooperating. Clear skies and mild termperatures are forecast for this afternoon.
Billy Crystal will host the ceremony, which begins at 5:30 p.m PT and will air live on ABC, where live coverage will begin at 1:30 PT and red carpet arrivals are expected at 4 p.m. PT.
Nine films are up for Best Picture. The clear-cut favorite is the silent film "The Artist," which has marched victoriously through the guild and critics awards leading up to tonight's event.
