Academy Names Andy Horn Chief Financial Officer

Academy continues restructuring of executive offices, creates CFO position for longtime controller Andy Horn

Andy Horn, who has served as controller of the Academy for more than a decade, has been named to the newly created position of Chief Financial Officer, AMPAS CEO Dawn Hudson announced on Wednesday.

Horn has managed the financial activies of the Academy since 2001, and has been involved in contract negotiations with ABC and with the CIM Group, which owns the Hollywood & Highland Center where the Oscars take place.

Todd Wawrychuk/AMPAS"Andy is an exceptional executive and an outstanding financial strategist," said Hudson in a press release announcing the appointment. "Over the years, his skills and expertise have earned him the respect of the Board, and he has led us in uncertain economic times to an even more secure place from which we can continue to grow and prosper."

The appointment continues a restructuring of Academy executive offices that began in 2011 when the CEO and COO positions were created for Hudson and Ric Robertson. Together, they replaced longtime executive director Bruce Davis, for nearly three decades had been the organization's chief salaried official.

Since then, the Academy has created the position of Chief Marketing Officer for Christina Kounelias, and given promotions (often with newly-created titles) to several longtime staffers, including Managing Director of Administration Scott Miller, Managing Director of Membership and Awards Kimberly Roush and Managing Director of Programing, Education and Preservation Randy Haberkamp.

Prior to joining the Academy staff, Horn worked at the Academy's longtime accountants, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
