David Shuster is the latest on-screen personality to join Al Jazeera's roster.
Shuster, formerly a correspondent for Current TV — which was purchased by Al Jazeera in January — will serve as one of the new network's New York anchors when it launches on Aug. 20.

At Current, Shuster covered the 2012 primaries, conventions, debates and election. Prior to Current, he was based at MSNBC, where he anchored shows including "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" and "MSNBC Live." He also served as a correspondent for "Hardball With Chris Matthews."

"From breaking news to in-depth reports, David has exactly the kind of experience we want to bring to all of our broadcasts," Al Jazeera America's senior vice president, newsgathering Marcy McGinnis said. "David will be an integral member of our New York reporting team when we launch later this month."
Other talent tapped by Al Jazeera America includes Patricia Sabga, Duarte Geraldino and Stacey Tisdale, who'll serve as correspondents on "Real Money with Ali Velshi"; ABC and NBC News veteran Bob Wheelock, who'll serve as the new network's senior executive producer; and former CBS international correspondent Sheila MacVicar, who will host the primetime evening show 'America Tonight."
