Alexander Skarsgard and James Tupper lead the latest cast additions to HBO’s “Big Little Lies” starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley, the company announced Tuesday.

Skarsgard has been cast as Perry, Kidman’s character Celeste’s husband, while Tupper will play Nathan, ex-husband to Witherspoon’s character Madeline.

Other new cast members include Jeffrey Nordling, P.J. Byrne, Kelen Coleman, Sarah Burns, Virginia Kull, Sarah Baker, Kathreen Khavari, Larry Bates and Gia Carides.

Witherspoon’s “Wild” collaborator Jean-Marc Vallee is directing “Big Little Lies,” which is based on Liane Moriarty‘s bestselling book of the same name. Previously announced cast members include Adam Scott, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, Kathryn Newton, Hong Chau and Santiago Cabrera.

David E. Kelley wrote the script, which follows three mothers of kindergarteners whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.

Witherspoon and Kidman are executive producing “Big Little Lies” under their respective production companies, Pacific Standard (with Bruna Papandrea) and Blossom Films (with Per Saari). Kelley also serves as an executive producer alongside Vallee and his frequent collaborator Nathan Ross.

Skarsgard previously starred as a series regular on HBO’s long-running vampire series “True Blood.” He will next be seen in Warner Bros’ big screen “Legend of Tarzan” opposite Margot Robbie. He is represented by CAA.
