The "Real Housewives" have their own live after-show, so why shouldn't the zombies of "The Walking Dead"?
AMC announced Thursday that "Talking Dead," a weekly "Walking Dead" wrap-up, will air live after the show's season two episodes. Chris Hardwick, G4 host and creator and host of the "Nerdist" podcasts, will host the show, which premieres on Oct. 16, the same night as the second season premiere.

"Talking Dead" will air at 11 p.m. each Sunday night, following the encore 10 p.m. airing of new "Walking Dead" episodes, which debut in the 9 p.m. timeslot.
The half-hour show will include Hardwick interacting with "Walking Dead" stars and producers, as well as fans of the show, who will help him recap the zombie apocalypse series.
He'll also take call-in questions and comments from viewers, and, as in Bravo's post "Housewives" show, "Watch What Happens: Live," he will continue the post-episode TV rundown of "The Walking Dead" at AMCTV.com, where he'll continue to chat with fans.

"As an enormous fan of both 'The Walking Dead' comic and television show, I pretty much begged for this job," Hardwick said. "I'm fairly certain I slobbered on the phone while doing it. Dissecting the moves of Rick Grimes and the remaining survivors after every episode is something I would be doing with my friends anyway, so the fact that AMC is actually paying to do so is a bonus."
Hardwick, who hosts a "Nerdist" TV special Saturday on BBC America and will release the nerd self-help book "The Nerdist Way" on Nov. 1, added, "This half-hour after-show gives fans the opportunity to nerd out about the story in a very public forum: what they like, what they don't like, or what questions they may have. Additionally, it will better inform viewers on making intelligent decisions when faced with the zombie apocalypse, which will probably happen sooner or later."
