"American Horror Story" will premiere Oct. 9 at 10 p.m., FX said Tuesday — and to prepare everyone for the upcoming season, the network has also revealed a creep-tastic new teaser for the Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuk series.
"American Horror Story: Coven," which features newcomers Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett, is set more than 300 years after the Salem witch trials, with those who managed to escape the trials facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves.

Apropos of this season's theme, the new teaser features three women burning at the stake — or, rather hovering in the air above flames with stakes behind them.
