Amy Poehler and Billy Eichner just entered a “Difficult” relationship with Hulu.

Streaming service Hulu has given a direct-to-series order for the comedy “Difficult People,” which will be executive produced by “Saturday Night Live” alum Poehler and stars “Billy on the Street” duo Eichhner and Julie Klausner.

The half-hour series, which is the first collaboration between Universal Cable Productions and Hulu, stars Eichner and Klausner as best friends living in New York City whose typical, irreverent behavior lands them in some very awkward situations.

Klausner wrote the pilot and is also executive producing the series. Dave Becky (“Louie”) is also executive producing.

“I tend to enjoy funny people creating and starring in comedy programs, and Julie and Billy are the funniest around,” Poehler said of the series.

“Difficult People” will begin production early next year.
