Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd Fall in Cliché Love in First Trailer for Rom-Com Parody, ‘They Came Together’ (Video)

“Wet Hot American Summer” director David Wain is behind the upcoming comedy, which he co-wrote with “Stella” collaborator Michael Showalter

Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd are falling in love in the most cliché way ever in the first trailer for David Wain‘s upcoming romantic comedy parody, “The Came Together.” And it looks hilarious.

Fortunately for fans of Wain’s work (“Wet Hot American Summer,” “Role Models”), Poehler and Rudd aren’t the only funny people carrying this very conventional love story that draws from rom-coms like “You’ve Got Mail” and “Along Came Polly.”

Max Greenfield, Ed Helms, Cobie Smulders, Ellie Kemper, Adam Scott, Bill Hader, Jack McBrayer, Kenan Thompson and Jason Mantzouakas co-star with “Wet Hot American Summer” alumni including Michael Ian Black and Ken Marino and Christopher Meloni.

“They Came Together” hits theaters and VOD on June 24.
