Amy Schumer will receive the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence at the 2015 British Academy Britannia Awards, The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) announced Tuesday.

The Chaplin award is named after the British comedian, and seeks to recognize “talent whose popularity and cultural impact exemplifies the uniquely transcendent quality of excellent comedy.”

“In just a few years, Amy Schumer has established herself as a performer of great courage and discipline,” said BAFTA LA Chairman Kieran Breen in a statement. “With ‘Trainwreck’ and ‘Inside Amy Schumer,’ she has dared her peers to tackle the most difficult subject matter but in the smartest and most entertaining way.”

As previously announced, this year’s awards will also see Meryl Streep receiving the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, Sam Mendes the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing and James Corden the Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year.

The annual ceremony will take place on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Additional honorees will be announced at a later date.
