Excellent! “Bill & Ted Face the Music,” the reunion film where Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves reprising their roles as the beloved time-traveling slackers, will open nationwide on Aug. 21, 2020.

Production is set to begin this summer on the third film in the franchise, Hammerstone Studios announced on Wednesday. Orion Pictures will release the movie through its United Artists Releasing banner.

Winter and Reeves released a brief announcement video from the Hollywood Bowl that the movie is “actually, hopefully” happening. Watch it above.

“Bill & Ted Face The Music” follows the events of 1989’s “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and 1991’s “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey,” with the now middle-aged best friends William “Bill” S. Preston, Esq. (Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Reeves) setting out on a new adventure to fulfill their rock and roll (Wyld Stallions) destiny to bring harmony to the universe through the power of their music. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.

Dean Parisot (“Galaxy Quest,” “Red 2,” “Fun With Dick and Jane”) is directing the time-traveling buddy comedy based on a screenplay by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who are returning to the franchise.

Scott Kroopf is producing alongside Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce on behalf of Hammerstone Studios. Steven Soderbergh will be executive producing along with R. Scott Reid, John Ryan Jr., Scott Fischer and John Santilli. Production legal will be handled by Rosen Stapleton Law Group.

“Face the Music” was announced in May 2018, but even then Reeves had commented that he was uncertain if the film would be a “reality.”

“We’ve been trying for a long time to get that film made, and it still has its challenges,” Reeves said. “I really love the characters, and I think we have a good story to tell/ Part of it is show business stuff — financing, rights, deals. Nothing creatively.”

Reeves will next be seen in “John Wick: Chapter Three” and in the Netflix rom-com “Always be My Maybe.” Winter’s next project is a documentary on the life of the legendary rock artist Frank Zappa and another called “Showbiz Kids” for HBO and Bill Simmons’ Ringer Films.

The previous “Bill & Ted” films were box office successes, becoming cultural touch points for a generation and garnering a rabid cult following in the process.

Odom’s character details were not revealed, but he’s in line for a starring role in the project. He joins a cast that includes Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Ray Liotta, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Billy Magnussen, John Magaro and James Gandolfini’s son Michael Gandolfini as a young Tony Soprano.

“The Many Saints of Newark,” which has consistently been the title despite some confusion over a reported working title, “Newark,” will open via Warner Bros. and New Line on Sept. 25, 2020.

Alan Taylor is directing from a script by “Sopranos” creator David Chase and writer Lawrence Konner. Both Chase and Konner are also producing. Nicole Lambert (Chase Films), Marcus Viscidi, and Michael Disco (The Disco Factory) are executive producers on “Newark.”

“The Many Saints of Newark” is set in the 1960s during the Newark riots, five days of violence in the New Jersey city sparked by the beating of a black man by white police officers. It was especially lethal among African American and Italian American gangsters involved in the fighting — 26 people died and more than 700 people were injured during the riots.

More specifically, it follows the life of Dickie Moltisanti (Nivola), a frequently mentioned character in “The Sopranos” but one who was never seen in the original series, including flashbacks.

Some of Odom Jr.’s film roles include “Murder on the Orient Express” and “Red Tails,” but he has a number of projects awaiting release, including the sci-fi “Only” opposite Freida Pinto, the Harriet Tubman biopic “Harriet,” John Ridley’s sci-fi “Needle in a Timestack,” and finally a project directed by Sia called “Music.”

Odom, Jr. is repped by Creative Artists Agency, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway, Austen, Tyerman, Wertheimer, Mandelbaum, Morris, Bernstein, Trattner & Klein.

Garth Davis’ religious drama had its world premiere at the National Gallery in London in 2018 and received an international release, but it was previously on The Weinstein Company slate and was caught in release limbo after the Harvey Weinstein scandal. Now IFC will open the film theatrically on April 12.

Mara stars as Mary Magdalene opposite Phoenix’s Jesus and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Peter. “Mary Magdalene” aims to depict the moving story of “one of the most misunderstood women in history alternately vilified as a sinner and canonized as a saint.” Here’s the full synopsis:

In the First Century A.D., the free-spirited Mary (Mara) flees the marriage her family has arranged for her, finding a sense of purpose in a radical new movement led by the charismatic, defiant preacher Jesus of Nazareth (Phoenix). The sole woman among his band of disciples, Mary defies the prejudices of her patriarchal society. She undergoes a profound spiritual awakening, becomes drawn her into conflict with Jesus’s apostles Peter (Ejiofor) and Judas (Tahar Rahim, star of Jacques Audiard’s “A Prophet”), and finds herself at the center of an earth-shaking historical moment. “Mary Magdalene” is a rapturous, moving account of a miraculous woman who risked everything to follow her faith.

Helen Edmundson and Philippa Goslett wrote the film. The producers are Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, and Liz Watts, with cinematography by Greig Fraser and music by Hildur Guðnadóttir and the late Jóhann Jóhannsson. The film is the second for Davis after his breakout 2016 drama “Lion.”

“Mary Magdalene” was produced by See-Saw Films and Porchlight Films. The deal for the film was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, EVP of Acquisitions and Productions at IFC Films/Sundance Selects/IFC Midnight and UTA on behalf of the filmmakers.

The trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” is finally here.

We’ve already seen Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie look stunning in vintage ’60s threads, and we even saw DiCaprio do the twist, but now we see the full picture of Hollywood in 1969.

Tarantino has teased that the film would include real life luminaries in the peripheries, but did anyone anticipate Brad Pitt fighting with Bruce Lee? Or a smirking, sinister Charles Manson?

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is set in Hollywood in 1969 and follows a fading TV actor who teams up with his stunt double to reclaim fame during Hollywood’s final years of its golden age. But always lurking in the shadows of what is, in a way, an otherwise sunny and colorful Hollywood fairy tale, is Charles Manson and the Manson Family murders that took place in this same time period.

“Actors are required to do a lot of dangerous stuff,” DiCaprio’s actor character says of his stunt double, played by Pitt. “Cliff here helps carry the load.”

This first trailer also gives a fuller look at the absolutely stellar cast that Tarantino has assembled, many of whom are portraying real-life figures involved in the Manson story. Robbie is, of course, playing Sharon Tate, with Bruce Dern portraying rancher George Spahn, Dakota Fanning as Squeaky Fromme, Damian Lewis as legendary actor Steve McQueen, Emile Hirsch as Jay Sebring, and Lena Dunham is “Gypsy” Share.

Sony Pictures is releasing “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” on July 26.

Even though Quentin Tarantino’s film came out in 1994, just a year before when “Captain Marvel” is set, the de-aged Nick Fury is not based on Jackson’s look as Jules Winnfield, and there’s a good reason why.

“We had to throw out ‘Pulp Fiction’ almost immediately just because of the facial hair,” Trent Claus, the visual effects supervisor at Lola told TheWrap. “It blocked so much of the reference that we needed, it wasn’t very useful.”

In de-aging Jackson for “Captain Marvel,” the VFX team did away with a body double and looked to his vast library of films as a reference point. They’re looking for the subtleties in how his cheek might sag in certain places, how light reflects off certain points or how weight hangs on his jaw. It’s a meticulous process that even with a reference from many films, still requires a lot of guesswork and understanding of the physiology of the human face and body.

“It’s not as helpful as it might seem,” Claus said. “Even though you have lots of angles, it’s rare you find the exact right position and lighting and all those things.”

Claus says the film that helped their cause the most was the smaller budget thriller “One Eight Seven.” Though Jackson guessed that they would’ve modeled his look from “The Negotiator,” Claus says it was slightly beyond the age they were looking for.

The year that the movie was released wasn’t the only thing that they took into consideration.

“If you look at his appearance in say, ‘Jurassic Park,’ which was ’93, compared to his appearance in ‘Pulp Fiction,’ he looks older in ‘Jurassic Park’ than he does in ‘Pulp Fiction,’ just because that’s who his character was,” Claus said. “So we had to factor that in as well. Not only what year was it shot, but what was his character supposed to portray?”

Claus said that for someone who is 70 years old, Jackson has “aged very well.” But that doesn’t always make their job easier.

“That can actually be a double-edged sword. Without the standard wrinkles to remove, that’s kind of the low hanging fruit. If we simply just wipe off the wrinkles from someone, that can immediately take 10, 15 years off them,” Klaus said. “But if you’re working with someone like Sam, who really doesn’t have a whole lot of wrinkles, you really have to rely on physiological changes, changes in structure of musculature, textures of skin, the way the weight hangs on your neck and your jaw, things over time that we’ve studied for so many years now.”

In “West Side Story,” Stoll plays the New York City detective charged with quelling civic unrest in his racially-torn precinct, and dʼArcy James is the veteran cop whose beat includes the territories of the two warring street gangs, the Sharks and the Jets.

Stoll played Buzz Aldrin in “First Man,” and he recently had lead roles in “Othello” and “Julius Caesar” on stage.

DʼArcy James starred as King George in the original run of “Hamilton” at The Public Theater, and his film credits include “Spotlight” and the upcoming “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” and “The Kitchen.”

“West Side Story” will be produced and directed by Spielberg from a script by Tony Kushner. The film will be adapted for the screen from the original 1957 Broadway musical, which was written by Arthur Laurents with music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and concept, direction and choreography by Jerome Robbins.

Also producing are Kevin McCollum and Kristie Macosko Krieger. Rita Moreno is executive producing.

“West Side Story” will be released by Twentieth Century Fox. Filming is slated to start in the summer of 2019. Additional casting announcements will be made in the coming weeks.

Though he’s directing the “Avatar” films, Cameron is heavily involved in this film that reunites Arnold Schwarzenegger with Linda Hamilton, the original Sarah Connor, and it is the first time the two have been on screen together since “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.”

While the plot for the film is unknown, Cameron has promised that it will have a sense of closure to it and align more closely with the events of the second film, as opposed to the subsequent sequels.

“Deadpool” director Tim Miller directs and is credited with writing the story alongside David Ellison. Josh Friedman, David S. Goyer, Billy Ray and Justin Rhodes all wrote the screenplay.

Also starring in “Terminator: Dark Fate” are Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes, who appeared in a first look photo opposite Hamilton.

“Dark Fate” opens in theaters from Paramount and Skydance on Nov. 1. It will open on a busy fall weekend opposite wide releases “Charlie’s Angels” from Universal, the Edward Norton crime drama “Motherless Brooklyn” from Warner Bros. and the animated “Arctic Dogs” from Entertainment Studios.

Focus will partner with Plan B Entertainment to produce and distribute “Irresistible,” a comedy set during a political campaign.

Chris Cooper also joins the previously announced cast of Carell and Rose Byrne. Stewart will also produce alongside Plan B Entertainment.

“In the age of fake news, Jon Stewart continues to be the real deal. He’s been making us laugh at the bipartisan commitment to bending the truth for years, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with him and Plan B as Jon brings his signature wit to the big screen with the incredibly versatile talents of Steve, Rose, and Chris,” Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski said in a statement.

Focus Features and Universal Pictures International will distribute the film worldwide. Focus’ Josh McLaughlin, president of production, will oversee the film.

This is the former “Daily Show” host’s follow-up to 2014’s “Rosewater,” a drama about the life of journalist Maziar Bahari that starred Gael Garcia Bernal.

Cooper will next be seen in Marielle Heller’s “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” based on the life of Mister Rogers. He also recently completed production on Greta Gerwig’s “Little Women.” He’s represented by CAA and Untitled Entertainment.

Focus is behind the Oscar-winning “BlacKkKlansman” from Spike Lee, and they recently released “Greta” and “The Mustang.” Other films on the studio’s slate include “The Dead Don’t Die” from Jim Jarmusch, “Harriet,” about the life of Harriet Tubman, and the upcoming “Downton Abbey” movie.

The festival on Tuesday announced its lineup of Tribeca Talks, and Scorsese and festival founder De Niro’s conversation will headline the Directors Series.

The duo will talk about their long, intertwined careers, beginning with “Mean Streets” and through “The Irishman,” which will be released on Netflix later this year. That project is their first time collaborating since 1995’s “Casino.” Together they’ve worked on nine films, including “Taxi Driver,” “Raging Bull,” “The King of Comedy” and “Cape Fear.” The chat between Scorsese and De Niro takes place on April 28 at the Beacon Theater in New York City.

Also added to the Tribeca Talks series as part of the Directors Series are conversations with Guillermo del Toro, and another between David O. Russell and Jennifer Lawrence.

Then as part of the Storytellers series, The Roots drummer Questlove, comedians Sarah Silverman and Mike Birbiglia, actors Michael J. Fox and Denis Leary, writer Jaron Lanier, and screenwriter and actress Rashida Jones will also all be featured.

Tribeca Talks also announced a conversation between Queen Latifah and “Mudbound” director Dee Rees, and “Metal Gear Solid” creator Hideo Kojima will sit down with “The Walking Dead’s” Norman Reedus to talk Kojima’s new game for the PlayStation 4, “Death Stranding,” starring Reedus.

Of course, “Hollywood. 1969” was the location and year that pregnant Tate was murdered by members of the Manson family, led by cult leader Charles Manson.

Everything we’ve seen thus far in anticipation of Tarantino’s ninth film has had that Old Hollywood glow, but it’s only a matter of time before Manson himself shows up and changes Hollywood forever.

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” also features a cast including Margaret Qualley, Scoot McNairy, Dakota Fanning, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Emile Hirsch, Tim Roth, James Marsden, Damian Lewis, Lorenza Izzo, Sydney Sweeney, Rumer Willis, Clifton Collins, Jr., Michael Masden, Zoe Bell, Bruce Dern, Harley Quinn Smith, Lena Dunham, Danny Strong, the late Luke Perry, and Damon Herriman as Manson.

Why do you have to do this to us Pixar? Does every new look at “Toy Story 4” have to make us cry this much?

The new trailer for “Toy Story 4” starts to try and answer those burning questions everyone had the first time around about the new character Forky, like his existential crisis and reason for existing. But it also grapples with Woody’s own purpose as a toy, something this franchise has done dating all the way back to the original. Oh, and it’s all set to the tune of “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys. They really know where to get us, don’t they?

“I was made to help this child,” Woody says. “I don’t remember it being this hard.”

This latest trailer also introduces us to three new characters and brings back the original franchise’s Bo Peep, who is now an adventurous spirit living life as a toy on the road. Among the new characters are Gabby Gabby, voiced by Christina Hendricks, Duke Caboom voiced by Keanu Reeves, and Giggle McDimples, voiced by Alli Maki.

Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. Kristin Chenoweth has her dream casting in mind for the upcoming film adaptation of “Wicked,” and we’re clicking our heels together three times to make sure we’re not dreaming at even the thought of it.

Chenoweth, who played Glinda the Good Witch in the “Wizard of Oz” prequel stage musical and was nominated for a Tony Award for her work, said Dove Cameron should take on her role for the film musical.

“I have done two movies with her and I’ve played her mother twice, so I would see that as passing the crown so to speak,” Chenoweth said on “The Talk.”

Cameron is the star of the Disney Channel show “Liv and Maddie.” She has featured on stage in a production of “Mamma Mia” and others, and she also had a recurring role on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

What about Elphaba, Glinda’s green best friend who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West? It’s hard to top Idina Menzel, but Chenoweth thought one of the biggest pop stars in the world would be ideal.

“I think Ariana Grande would make the perfect Elphaba,” Chenoweth said. “Both of them have got to be great actors and great singers …. and funny and sad, and both good and evil, and I just think they have it.”

Chenoweth was then asked if she would ever collaborate with Grande on a project.

“Yes. I mean, is the pope Catholic,” she joked. “I think she’s one, the most talented artists that we have. And I would like to celebrate that with her. But, no matter what, I’m her big sister, her mentor, that’s what I want to be more than anything.”

Stephen Daldry is directing the film produced by Marc Platt and Winnie Holzman, who wrote the original musical book, is writing the screenplay.

Zach Baylin wrote the spec script for the film that has Tim White and Trevor White (“The Post”) as producers under their Star Throwers Entertainment banner, along with Smith, who is producing for his Overbrook Entertainment banner. Allan Mandelbaum and Caleeb Pinkett are executive producers on the film, and Mary Solomon and Rick Rickertsen are serving as co-producers.

“King Richard” is the story of how Williams overcame adversity and trained his two daughters on the streets of Compton, California to become among the greatest tennis players in the history of the game.

“King Richard” was the subject of a minor controversy when online critics said that Smith was too light-skinned of an actor to portray the dark-skinned Williams.

Smith recently dropped out of “The Suicide Squad” and is next set to star in Disney’s live-action remake of “Aladdin” as the Genie.

De-aging is a meticulous, time-intensive process. Part of that process involves filming a body double that the visual effects artist can use as a reference. In making the leap between a handful to now hundreds of shots, Marvel tasked the company Lola Visual Effects to make some tests to see what Jackson could look like without the aid of a double. The payoff was enormous.

“That process works if you’ve got five, eight, maybe 10 shots. But in a movie like this where we’ve got about 500 shots, there was no way from a production point of view we could do that,” Christopher Townsend, Marvel’s visual effects supervisor on “Captain Marvel,” told TheWrap. “One of the big gains was Lola coming back to us and saying, ‘we don’t need the body double.’ That was huge for us because it cut down our shooting time by at least half.”

The end result in “Captain Marvel” is seamless, easily creating the illusion that Fury is far younger than the actor playing him. Townsend said that the goal was to always avoid the “uncanny valley” effect and to make Jackson’s youth look natural and unnoticeable.

“The thing I said to the gang at the beginning is from that first shot you see of Sam, you’ll go ‘Woah! Young Sam!’ But my intention was after that, nobody thinks about it,” Townsend said. “And hopefully that’s what we’ve achieved if we’ve done our job right, and that the audience never questions it and doesn’t even consider it.”

De-aging, or “youthening” as the VFX experts at Marvel also call it, requires repeatedly and painstakingly manipulating an individual frame of a movie to make an actor look younger.

Imagine trying to use Photoshop to make a model look thinner or younger on a magazine cover: you paint out any wrinkles, smooth the skin, fill in pores, bring in a person’s cheeks or chin, etc., but now do that frame by frame across a two-hour movie.

“The real challenge is making it so that there’s continuity from one frame to the next so that it feels smooth, and it never feels like the face is jiggling around or moving,” Townsend said. “It really comes down to the artistry of the person sitting there and trying to maintain as much of the original performance as possible.”

“You want every shot throughout the whole movie to look like Sam, and specifically to look like Sam at that age. So when you’re working with hundreds of shots and dozens of artists, it would be really easy for each of these shots to go off in their own direction and every shot looking like a different person,” Trent Claus, visual effects supervisor with Lola, added. “So you have to be very strict with consistency and internal reviews and things like that to maintain that continuity.”

Claus helped pioneer the de-aging process with “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and in creating the “Skinny Steve” effect in the first “Captain America” movie, in which Chris Evans was slimmed down at its start, a precursor to the technique used today. But he said that it’s a “misconception” that the technology itself has changed or evolved drastically in the last 10 years. What has improved is their experience and knowledge of the physiology of the human body and face.

With the absence of a body double, the visual effects artists looked to ’90s Jackson classics like “The Negotiator,” “Die Hard: With a Vengeance,” “Jurassic Park” and smaller films like “Sphere” and “One Eight Seven.” As VFX artists might also do with a body double, they’re looking for a model for how light reflects on his face or how his cheek might sag when he strikes a similar expression to one used in “Captain Marvel.”

Claus, however, said that the challenge of working with someone who has “aged very well” like Jackson is actually a “double-edged sword.”

“If we simply just wipe off the wrinkles from someone, that can immediately take 10, 15 years off them,” Claus said. “But if you’re working with someone like Sam, who really doesn’t have a whole lot of wrinkles, you really have to rely on physiological changes, changes in structure of musculature, textures of skin, the way the weight hangs on your neck and your jaw, things over time like that we’ve studied for so many years now.”

Townsend said the goal is always to maintain as much of the performance as possible, to manipulate the image without destroying the original photography. Smooth out too much, and you lose the nuances of the actor’s performance but also end up with unnatural, plastic-y looking skin.

And in striving for realism and understanding the human face, Claus says what they do is much more than photoshopping.

“We don’t want to remove all the imperfections. We don’t want to make them look more perfect than an actual human does. We want to keep all of that pore texture, whiskers, and all of those things that it would be easier for us to just eliminate,” Claus said. “It would be far easier for us to just obliterate all the detail on someone’s face. But then you end up with that mannequin, uncanny valley thing that we all try to avoid.”

The question that remains is how Marvel will use this technology in the future, or what it means for upcoming movies from other filmmakers. Martin Scorsese is planning to de-age Robert De Niro and Al Pacino for “The Irishman,” and Ang Lee is de-aging Will Smith for “Gemini Man.” Claus says that on future projects, using a body double is still ideal. But considering the scope of projects like “The Irishman” and “Gemini Man,” the VFX teams on those films may look to take Lola’s lead.

Townsend isn’t sure of the specific techniques that Scorsese and Netflix are utilizing but says that the process is the same and reiterated that the goal is always to do the most you can to fully capture the actor’s performance and get out of the way of the story.

“De-aging, youthening, any actor that has had a prolific career, brings advantages and disadvantages,” Townsend said. “There is plenty of onscreen reference from which to draw, but equally, there will be many experts out there critiquing the work and comparing it directly with the younger actor.”

We’re sure the set of “Dumbo” was a delightful experience and that the finished film will be more than appropriate for young audiences, but star Colin Farrell admits he had a hand in filling up a swear jar on set. And his young co-stars were quick to name names of others who have just as bad of a potty mouth.

While guesting on “The Talk,” Sharon Osbourne said Farrell has been known for his “colorful language,” although Farrell joked that she’s one to talk.

“Indeed, how did you get this job,” the Irish actor said. “There must be somebody backstage with carpal tunnel from hitting the button so much.”

Farrell said that by the end of the film, there was a swear jar that was “rather full,” and that all the money went to charity.

“Of course, I wasn’t the only one to blame. Who else had ‘colorful language?’ Come on, nail someone,” Farrell said to the film’s child actors Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins. And without missing a beat, Hobbins chimed in and called out Danny DeVito and Michael Keaton.

In a separate clip on “The Talk,” DeVito had reason to swear, saying that this was his first time working with CGI on a film. He’s still amazed about having to look at a “green blob” and pretend it’s a baby elephant.

“It looks like a grasshopper. It’s not quite an elephant,” DeVito said.

But even Hobbins might’ve used some colorful language on the set. His co-star Parker is the daughter of Thandie Newton, who happened to be filming “Solo: A Star Wars Story” at the same time that she was filming “Dumbo.” While she got to visit the set, Hobbins gave Parker the “cold shoulder” for leaving him behind.

“We’re having a nice day on set, and I’m told, oh Nico is getting to go to the ‘Star Wars’ set,” Hobbins said. “Oh cool! You can’t come.”

It’s Hollywood in 1969, and DiCaprio plays a faded TV actor who, along with his stunt double, strives to achieve fame and success in the film industry during the final years of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

Disney reinstated Gunn on Friday after firing him from the third film in Marvel’s “Guardians” franchise last July when online critics discovered years-old tweets in which he joked about rape and pedophilia. Gunn apologized and said he had grown as a person in the years since the jokes. Despite calls from many fans to reinstate him, Disney made clear at the time that Gunn would not direct the third “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Disney said in a statement from Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn that the jokes were “indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values.” According to an individual with knowledge, the decision to rehire Gunn was made months ago following conversations.

In January, TheWrap reported that Gunn was in talks to direct “The Suicide Squad” for DC. The sequel to 2016’s “Suicide Squad” will hit theaters on August 6, 2021, Warner Bros. announced Wednesday. Peter Safran and Charles Roven will produce. He will complete this film first, with production to start in September, before returning to Disney for “Guardians 3.”

As TheWrap first reported, Gunn wrote the script for “The Suicide Squad.” The film is said to have a completely new take on the property, in which DC supervillains are recruited by the government to carry out secret missions too dirty for the likes of Superman and Batman.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise has made over $700 million at the box office, with the last installment scoring an opening weekend of $146 million two years ago.

As a man says in the trailer for the Netflix documentary “The Legend of Cocaine Island,” there are Northern fairy tales and Southern fairy tales. Northern ones start off, “Once upon a time…,” while a Southern one begins, “You ain’t goin’ to believe this s—.”

“The Legend of Cocaine Island” boasts that it’s a Southern fairy tale, and it features a handful of down south good ‘ol boys who get caught up in a myth about a stash of $2 million worth of cocaine to the point that they start living like Scarface.

“I was talking that smack, that drug talk,” one of the documentary’s subjects Rodney Hyden says in the trailer. “Say hello to my little friend!”

Directed by Theo Love, “The Legend of Cocaine Island” premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival under the title “White Tide: The Legend of Culebra.” It’s now set to premiere on Netflix with this more sensationalized title. But the story is crazy enough to be worth it. Here’s the full synopsis:

Rodney Hyden is an American dreamer: a small business owner and family man from Central Florida. But after he’s wiped out by the Great Recession, Rodney hears a story that could be his ticket out of his mounting debt: a tale of a map, an island and buried treasure. Fueled by a combination of economic desperation and blissful ignorance, Rodney hatches a plan to retrieve a possibly mythical $2 million stash of cocaine from its reported Caribbean hiding place. With the help of a colorful group of misfits – and without prior drug-running experience – Rodney sets out in pursuit of his very own American dream, with surprising results.

“The Legend of Cocaine Island” is a Sidestilt Production in association with Dreamco Pictures. The documentary premieres globally on Netflix on March 29.

“Captain Marvel” editor Debbie Berman said in a new interview that the original ending to “Captain Marvel” didn’t have the same emotional “closure” or “resonance” that the film ultimately did in its final cut.

In an early iteration of “Captain Marvel,” Berman said that the film ended with Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) flying off into space alone. But, she suggested some tweaks to directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, saying that moment didn’t feel quite right.

“It used to end with Carol flying off into space alone, and I found that a bit jarring. Like, where exactly was she going? And what was she doing,” Berman said in an interview with ET. “It felt like we needed a stronger visual to assert a more specific justification for her leaving and disappearing for so many years. So we added Talos and his family in their spaceship waiting for her, and they all fly off together.”

The addition helps explain what Carol was actually doing in between the events of “Captain Marvel” and her return to Earth in “Avengers: Endgame,” with Carol helping to rescue the colony of Skrulls from the Kree. Berman said it also gave the film a stronger emotional pull as well.

“It gave her more of a sense of purpose and made it easier to believe that she left her newfound life on Earth because she was with a friend we knew she cared about, and for a more specific mission,” Berman said. “It gave more resonance and closure to her final moment in the film.”

Berman also edited “Black Panther” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and by working with Marvel’s first female director, Berman said she found opportunities to give the story a woman’s touch where another editor might’ve approached it differently, like during Carol’s reunion with her best friend, Maria.

Berman said she was given the luxury to hold a wide shot of the two of them for longer than is typical in a fast-moving action film. She also chose an emotional take of Carol shedding a tear as she said the line, “My name is Carol.”

“I had a lot of other takes of that line where she just said it in a stoic, kick-ass fashion. And I was drawn to those other takes because that’s what I am used to seeing — and in a way, I’ve been programmed to feel that someone being strong and emotionless is the right play,” Berman said. “But then I thought, I have never seen a superhero cry while saying her most kick-ass of lines, and honestly, if I had gone through everything she had just gone through, no matter how strong I was feeling at that moment, I think I would be having a multitude of emotional experiences simultaneously.”

Paramount is looking at an opening weekend between $10-$14 million for the children’s fantasy tale, but it is of course contending with “Captain Marvel” in what is expected to be an especially strong second weekend for the Marvel superhero film. “Wonder Park” is tracking similarly to Paramount’s “Sherlock Gnomes,” which opened in March last year to just $10.6 million on a $59 million budget.

“Captain Marvel” meanwhile grossed an additional $9.1 million domestically on Thursday, bringing its domestic total to $196.8 million. It also made an additional $16.1 million internationally on Thursday, bringing its overall global total to $575.5 million.

“Wonder Park” tells the story of a magnificent amusement park where the imagination of a wildly creative girl named June comes alive. One magical day, June is running through the woods to find her way home where she discovers an old rollercoaster car and climbs inside. She suddenly finds herself in Wonderland, an amusement park she had created in her mind and put aside. All of her rides and characters are brought to life but are falling into disarray without her. Now, with the help of her fun and lovable park characters, June will have to put the wonder back in Wonderland before it is lost forever.

Jennifer Garner leads a voice cast that also includes Matthew Broderick, John Oliver, Mila Kunis, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Norbert Leo Butz, Brianna Denski and Ken Hudson Campbell. Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec wrote the screenplay.

“Netflix and the filmmakers of ‘Bird Box’ have decided to replace the clip. We’re sorry for any pain caused to the Lac-Megantic community,” Netflix said in a statement to TheWrap. adding that it would remove the footage in question. The company did not provide a reason for its decision.

Quebec’s minister of culture and communications Nathalie Roy praised Netflix’s decision in a tweet on Thursday.

“The move was expected by respect for the victims of this horrible tragedy, their families and the entire community of Lac-Mégantic,” Roy said. “This result shows that by being united and pooling our efforts, everything is possible.”

In January, the Canadian Parliament voted unanimously to condemn Netflix and demanded that the streaming giant remove the images from “its fiction catalogue,” as well as calling for compensation for the citizens of Lac-Mégantic, Quebec. Netflix apologized in a letter to the Canadian minister of culture and communications, but originally said it had no plans to remove the footage.

A brief scene in the Sandra Bullock horror-thriller “Bird Box” uses stock footage that matches news footage from the 2013 Lac-Mégantic rail disaster, in which an unattended freight train carrying crude oil derailed in downtown Quebec. Multiple tank cars exploded and sparked a fire, most of the city’s downtown was destroyed, and 47 people were killed.

The same footage also appeared in an episode of another Netflix show called “Travelers,” and in both instances the stock footage was supplied by the same third party company, Pond5. The footage was removed from “Travelers,” but not from “Bird Box.”

Netflix then coordinated with the town’s mayor, Julie Morin, after she called on the company to remove the footage.

“They’ve committed to reflecting with their partners on the use of these images so that the situation does not repeat itself,” Morin said in a statement via the Associated Press. “We also felt they were sensitive to our citizens’ recovery. I’m satisfied with this exchange.”

However, the Canadian parliament still rebuked Netflix well after the footage was initially spotted.

“Netflix: Remove those images. This is not entertainment,” Pierre Nantel, a legislator with the New Democrat party who introduced the motion in Canadian parliament, said in a tweet.

At the very least though, it has a title: “The Many Saints of Newark.” This is a project that boasts “The Sopranos” creator David Chase and an already impressive cast.

It also has a release date: New Line Cinema is planning to release the film on Sept. 25, 2020. Here’s what else we know:

Firstly, Chase wrote the film with Lawrence Konner, a staff writer on “The Sopranos” who received the sole writing credit on three individual episodes. They are also producing the film.

Alan Taylor is directing “Newark.” He won an Emmy in 2007 for directing the Season 6 episode “Kennedy and Heidi.” More recently, Taylor has been behind some of the stand-out episodes of “Game of Thrones,” including “Beyond the Wall,” which was nominated for an Emmy in the show’s the seventh season.

As for the cast, Alessandro Nivola is starring alongside Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Ray Liotta, John Magaro, Billy Magnussen and Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late James Gandolfini, who is portraying a young Tony Soprano.

Nivola, known for films such as “American Hustle,” “A Most Violent Year” and “Selma,” will play Richard “Dickie” Moltisanti. If that name sounds familiar, it is because Moltisanti loomed heavily over the arc of “The Sopranos,” but in name only.

Dickie was Carmela Soprano’s cousin, a Vietnam veteran and a foot soldier in the Soprano crew. He was killed when Christopher was very young, and we know of his past because Tony would frequently show his protective, paternal instincts for Christopher and shared anecdotes with him about Christopher’s late father.

He was always a “stand up guy,” Tony would say. And the show even devoted an entire episode arc in which Tony helps Chrissy avenge his father’s death. As a way of slowly nudging Chrissy up the family hierarchy, Tony tells Chrissy his father’s killer was a recently retired detective, and he then delivers the presumed killer for Chrissy to interrogate him.

“The Many Saints of Newark” is also fitting as a title as “Moltisanti” literally means “many saints” in Italian.

The film is set in Newark in the 1960s when around the time of the Newark riots. Dubbed “The Long Hot Summer of 1967,” the Newark riots were one of 159 race riots that swept the country that year. These riots ignited when Newark Police officers arrested and beat an African American taxi driver. It sparked four days of looting, violence and property destruction in which 26 people died and hundreds more were injured.

“The Sopranos” show flashed back to this time the “Down Neck” episode when Tony reflected on a point in his youth when Johnny Boy Soprano and a young Uncle Junior still ran the streets.

Oddly in this flashback, Tony is only a kid, whereas Michael Gandolfini (who plays Christopher Multisanti) is a young adult, so there’s the possibility that the film ends up jumping beyond the 1960s, possibly to when Dickie is killed.

“The Sopranos” was a groundbreaking show for the ways in which it touched on themes of addiction, depression and race. Many of the mobsters on “The Sopranos” showed their racist sides and spoke fondly of the days prior to the Civil Rights era. Exploring their origins in this period will show how their personalities and prejudices became what they were in the HBO series.

As with any David Chase property, whether it’s “The Sopranos” or his ’60s rock film “Not Fade Away” (which also starred John Magaro), you can bet that “Newark” will be far more than just your average period piece.

The working title “Sopranos” prequel “The Many Saints of Newark” opens Sept. 25, 2020.

They’ve even issued a new poster for the film, correcting the oversight.

“She should have been up there all this time,” Marvel Studios said in a tweet. “Check out the official Marvel Studios’ #AvengersEndgame poster. @DanaiGurira #WakandaForever.”

Gurira’s character Okoye appeared on the poster along with all the other Avengers who didn’t get dusted at the end of “Avengers: Infinity War,” but her name was absent. It’s a big omission, considering that Gurira is one of only two black characters among the cast, and Gurira was one of the stars of Marvel’s Best Picture nominated “Black Panther.”

It also sparked some online outrage over her snub.

“Why isn’t [sic] @DanaiGurira ‘s name not on the top of the poster ??? @Marvel. Put some respect on her name,” one user said.

The new poster is otherwise unchanged, but Gurira is now slotted in between Karen Gillan and Bradley Cooper on the very long list of names.

The film, which was previously going with the working title “Newark,” will open in theaters on Sept. 25, 2020.

Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Ray Liotta, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Billy Magnussen, John Magaro, and Michael Gandolfini star in the film directed by Alan Taylor and written and produced by David Chase and Lawrence Konner.

“Newark” is set in the 1960s during the Newark riots, five days of violence in the New Jersey city sparked by the beating of a black man by white police officers. It was especially lethal among African American and Italian American gangsters involved in the fighting — 26 people died and more than 700 people were injured during the riots.

More specifically, it follows the life of Dickie Moltisanti, a frequently mentioned character in “The Sopranos” but one who was never seen in the original series, including flashbacks.

Nivola is playing Moltisanti, and Gandolfini, the son of the late “Sopranos” star James Gandolfini, will star as a young Tony Soprano in the film.

Nicole Lambert, on behalf of Chase Films, and Marcus Viscidi are executive producing “Newark.”

Superconductor, which the Russos and Lin founded with Todd Makurath and Luke Ricci, will provide marketing solutions, or what they call “Must See Marketing,” for companies to address business challenges and create content in film, cinematic commercials, digital video, VR and AR, stunts, activations, brand integrations and more.

“We talked to CEOs and CMOs and they were all telling us the same thing,” Joe Russo said in a statement Thursday. “They needed a new kind of agency that was more nimble, more efficient and more capable of delivering content that really breaks through. So we built one by assembling a team of people who share our vision of creating incredible stories on behalf of brands. We call it Must See Marketing, which is advertising that people choose to watch and experiences that people love to spend time with.”

Chris Adams, who has led creative agencies including Phenomenon, Saatchi & Saatchi and TBWA\Chiat\Day for brands like Apple, Toyota, Nissan, P&G and MARS, will be another co-founder of Superconductor and their chief creative officer. Other senior members of the leadership team include Chief Strategy Officer Noel Sullivan and EVP Sales & Development Allison Amon.

“As a company, telling compelling stories is in our DNA, and everything we do is built around that love for connecting with an audience,” Adams said in a statement. “We are primed to help brands break through the clutter in faster, more affordable and more effective ways than ever before.”

Superconductor will launch with clients including Hertz and Holoride. They’ve created a process they call The Writer’s Room that borrows from the best practices for creating film franchises or TV series, and they’ll additionally provide access and custom teams for each client.

“What makes The Writer’s Room really special is that we invite clients to participate, so they’re part of the process. “Between Me and My Mind,” a documentary about the lead singer of classic rock band Phish, Trey Anastasio, will be one of the festival’s Gala screenings and will be followed by a live performance from the Trey Anastasio Band.

“The Good, The Bad, The Hungry” is a documentary about the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, and it will be the opening film for the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Gala.

And finally, Tribeca will also host several anniversary screenings this year, including a first look at a 4K restoration of Francis Ford Coppola’s “Apocalypse Now: Final Cut,” a cast reunion of the iconic ’80s coming of age film “Say Anything…,” a 25th anniversary reunion with the cast and director of “Reality Bites,” and the previously announced 35th anniversary screening of “This Is Spinal Tap,” which will also feature a special performance from the band.

“Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” will also be screened as part of Tribeca’s Star Wars Tribeca Family Day on May 4.

In Boyle’s “Yesterday,” Himesh Patel stars as a struggling songwriter who wakes up one morning to discover that he’s the only person in the world who can remember the songs of The Beatles or that the band ever existed. He then goes on a whirlwind journey to help restore the world to the songs of the beloved British rock band. It will make its premiere on May 4.

“Between Me and My Mind,” directed by Steven Cantor, follows Phish frontman Anastasio as he takes on new projects, including some of his most personal music to date, as well as Phish’s ambitious New Year’s Eve show at Madison Square Garden. It will play April 26.

Francis Ford Coppola himself will be on hand at the anniversary screening for “Apocalypse Now: Final Cut” on April 26 to reflect on the film and react to the finished restoration.

Added to the “Reality Bites” screening are director Ben Stiller, writer Helen Childress and stars Ethan Hawke, Winona Ryder, Janeane Garofalo and Steve Zahn. The screening will take place May 4.

And director Cameron Crowe and executive producer James L. Brooks will be on hand with the cast of “Say Anything…” for that film’s anniversary screening. It will screen on April 30.

The 18th edition of the Tribeca Film Festival runs between April 24-May 5. Tickets for events at the Beacon Theatre go on sale March 19 at 11 a.m. ET; Single tickets for all other Festival events go on sale March 26 at 11 a.m. ET.

Jimmy Fallon knows that of all the Avengers, Mark Ruffalo is probably the worst at keeping secrets. Ahead of the new trailer for “Avengers: Endgame” dropping this morning, Fallon hooked the actor who plays Bruce Banner up to a lie detector in order to extract any “Endgame” secrets.

“I don’t want to get fired again,” Ruffalo said, referring to the last time he appeared on “The Tonight Show” when he revealed that the title of the new movie was “Endgame.” The title was bleeped, but internet sleuths figured it out anyway. Ruffalo even inadvertently said during a junket that everyone dies at the end of “Infinity War.” No one believed him, but they should have based the look on Don Cheadle’s face during Ruffalo’s reveal.

Fallon first asked if The Hulk is actually a shape-shifting Skrull alien, as revealed in “Captain Marvel.” Survey says…Ruffalo’s lying when he says he can’t answer that.

Next up, are there any secret clues in the trailer we haven’t uncovered yet, Fallon asked. Ruffalo said no, which was a “lie,” but then Marvel dropped a new trailer Thursday morning, which makes it all moot anyway. “This is BS,” Ruffalo shouted.

Then Fallon asked if Bruce Banner and Black Widow will get together romantically. The needle moved furiously again. Ruffalo then got one right when Fallon asked if Cheadle is sexier than he is.

Finally, Fallon asked if everyone who got snapped by Thanos was actually gone, or if they could come back? Ruffalo pleaded the fifth and snapped himself to end the segment.

Karam is also writing and directing the film adaptation of his Broadway show.

“The Humans” is set at Thanksgiving and follows the Blake family in their run-down Manhattan apartment as they argue and deal with aging family members, illnesses, economic woes and frustrations over religion.

“The Humans” was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2016, and it won the Tony Award for Best Play along with three other Tonys, including Best Featured Actor Reed Birney and Featured Actress Houdyshell. The play premiered in Chicago in 2014, went to Off-Broadway in 2015, and then transferred to Broadway in 2016.

Schumer most recently starred in “I Feel Pretty” and is repped by WME and Maverick Management.

Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and photographer/mountaineer Jimmy Chin directed the Nat Geo documentary about Honnold, a free solo rock climber who dreams of climbing El Capitan, the 3,200-foot peak in Yosemite National Park, without a rope.

The film also follows Honnold in his personal life trying to maintain a healthy relationship while pursuing an inherently dangerous lifestyle, as well as the cameramen tasked with trying to film what could potentially be a life-threatening endeavor every time Honnold goes out for a climb.

“‘Free Solo’ is a true masterpiece that combines awe-inspiring camerawork with the kind of authentic storytelling that Hulu viewers love,” Lisa Holme, VP of content acquisition at Hulu said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with our friends at National Geographic Documentary Films to add this extraordinary film to the growing slate of award-winning documentaries available on Hulu.”

The film set a box office record by breaking the best per screen average for a documentary, which was previously held by “An Inconvenient Truth.” It also was among the best per screen average movies at the box office in 2018.

Nat Geo has geared up with several other documentaries since the acclaimed success of “Free Solo,” including a documentary on the Paradise wildfires from Ron Howard, an environmental documentary produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and a documentary on the Thai Cave Rescue.

President Donald Trump was quick to weigh in after former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno said modern late-night comics are “one-sided” in their political attacks.

“Actually, the one-sided hatred on these shows is incredible and for me, unwatchable,” Trump tweeted on Wednesday. “But remember, WE are number one – President!”

In an interview during the third hour of “Today” Wednesday, Leno said he doesn’t miss the days of doing “The Tonight Show” because now, “everyone has to know your politics.” He added that Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and the rest have it harder now than when he was hosting “The Tonight Show” because everyone is so focused on the political news cycle.

“When people see you as one-sided, it just makes it tough,” Leno said. “I did it when Clinton was horny and Bush was dumb. It was a little easier. Now it’s all very serious. I’d just like to see a little civility come back to it.”

Leno’s comments actually inspired an early tweet from the President himself, who heard a paraphrased quote from the Leno interview on “Fox & Friends” and ran with it to call out the late night comics for being “totally one-sided.”

That’s not to say Leno let Trump off easy, he just said it’s harder to make comedy in the Trump era.

“Everyone says, it must be easy to do jokes with Trump. No, it’s actually harder,” Leno said. “Because the punch-line of the joke used to be, ‘It’s like the President is with a porn star.’ Well now the President is with a porn star! Where do you go with that? How do you get more outrageous than that?”

Leno said he always followed Johnny Carson’s model in hoping that your audience could never figure out your politics, and he admitted he would get hate mail from both sides of the aisle equally. Of course, that’s not the only thing that’s changed in the appetite for late night comedy.

“The theory when we did the show was, you just watched the news, we’ll make fun of the news and get your mind off the news,” Leno said. “Now people just want to be on the news all the time. You just have one subject, the same topic every night.”

The untitled “Sesame Street” movie, a live-action musical, arrives Jan. 15, 2021, and the untitled “Tom and Jerry” movie, which is a live-action and animation hybrid, comes out April 16, 2021.

“Portlandia” co-creator Jonathan Krisel is directing the “Sesame Street” movie based on the long-running children’s series created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett that features muppet characters created by Jim Henson including Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Ernie and many others.

Mike Rosolio wrote the first draft of the screenplay, with Chris Galletta writing the most recent draft. Shawn Levy is producing with Michael Aguilar. Levy has been developing the project since 2012 when 20th Century Fox held the rights. Jesse Ehrman is overseeing for Warner Bros. Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind the longstanding children’s program, will be involved with the development of the project.

Tim Story (“Ride Along,” “Shaft”) is attached to direct the untitled “Tom and Jerry” movie for Warner Bros. Animation Group based on the rival cat and mouse duo from the 1940s and ’50s Hanna-Barbera cartoon shorts. The project will be a hybrid of animation and live-action.

Paramount has a “Rugrats” movie, based on the Nickelodeon ’90s cartoon, arriving in late January of 2021, and Universal has “The Boss Baby 2” arriving several weeks ahead of the “Tom and Jerry” film in March 2021.

/Film says that the episodes will involve popular Marvel Cinematic Universe characters in alternate histories from what we’ve previously seen in the films, but these stories will not be considered “canon” to the MCU. Kevin Feige is overseeing the series for Marvel.

The “What If” comic book series were stories that explored an alternate history from established comic book storylines and lore. /Film says that one of the confirmed episodes will be an adaptation of “What If? Vol. 1 #47” titled “What If Loki Had Found the Hammer of Thor?”

The “What If” comics originated in 1977 and have continued in runoffs since then, and the stories have been used to either provide fan service, settle long-running comics debates or imagine ways to tell otherwise impossible or outlandish stories. They range from imagining if all the X-Men had been killed on their first mission, to Jessica Jones joining the Avengers or Spider-Man joining the Fantastic Four, to Iron Man being sent back in time to the time of King Arthur.

The Disney+ animated series, however, will primarily focus on alternate universe stories based on the established Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

As an animated series, it opens the door for existing Marvel talent to reprise their roles in voice work. It was reported in September that Marvel was planning a pair of live-action shows based on MCU characters Loki and Scarlet Witch, with their original actors Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen expected to reprise their parts. No talent has yet been confirmed for the “What If” series.

'Captain Marvel' Also Introduced Us to a Major Future Marvel Superhero

All three of Christopher Nolan’s Batman films starring Christian Bale, a.k.a. “The Dark Knight” trilogy, are returning to IMAX screens and on 70mm film for a five-city, special engagement starting at the end of the month, Warner Bros.’ president of domestic distribution Jeff Goldstein announced Tuesday.

The first stop on the tour will take place on March 30 at the Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk Hollywood. Warner Bros. will screen 2005’s “Batman Begins,” 2008’s “The Dark Knight” and 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises” back-to-back-to-back. Then between the second and third films, Nolan will join the audience for a moderated Q&A discussion on the movies.

On April 13, the trilogy will screen at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City and AMC Metreon in San Francisco, followed by Cinesphere Ontario Place, Toronto, and IMAX Theatre at the Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis, on April 20. Each of the subsequent screenings will be accompanied by the footage of Nolan’s Los Angeles Q&A.

The films will screen on IMAX 70mm in all five cities. Nolan used IMAX cameras to shoot both “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises.”

“Christopher Nolan broke new ground with the ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy, and this is a rare chance for today’s audiences to experience these extraordinary films as they were meant to be seen,” Goldstein said in a statement. “To have the added privilege of hearing Chris’s insights firsthand makes this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

Both “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises” each grossed over a billion dollars at the worldwide box office.

Tickets for all events will go on sale Wednesday at 9 a.m. PT, and moviegoers who acquire tickets for all three films will receive a lanyard and special “Dark Knight” trilogy collectible.

According to the SEC’s order, Jam and David R. Bergstein, who was convicted of fraud and sentenced to an eight-year prison sentence in June 2018, raised approximately $5.6 million from 11 investors between September 2012 and March 2013 with the plan of taking the publicly-traded auction site Bidz.com Inc. private.

Jam lied about the amounts raised, the number of shares for sale, and the timing of the acquisition of Bidz.com. According to the SEC, Jam also “stole over $200,000 of investors’ proceeds, using the majority of the stolen funds to pay for, among other things, expensive meals out, alcohol, and travel and entertainment.”

In a second offering fraud, Jam and Bergstein between December 2012 and March 2014 raised approximately $580,000 from six investors to spin off a separate business unit of Bidz. Jam again lied to investors about the amounts raised, the number of shares for sale, and that a large, well-established, broker-dealer would underwrite the transaction. Jam stole $154,400 in investors’ proceeds, using the money to pay his office rent, insurance, car expenses, and gym membership, among other things.

The SEC uncovered Jam’s frauds during its initial investigation into Bergstein’s conduct, which resulted in the SEC filing fraud charges against Bergstein in Nov. 2016. Bergstein was indicted for that same conduct, convicted, and sentenced on June 27, 2018. Bergstein settled the SEC’s related charges.

The latest Twitter debate gained steam when Chris Evans retweeted an innocent enough video in which a group of men ranked six different brands of potato chips featured in a boxed assortment.

The debate went viral, with everyone from Questlove, Perez Hilton and Monica Lewinsky sharing their rankings, and let me tell you, America has clearly never been more divided over an issue than this one.

“The correct answer is: 1. Cool ranch, 2. Cheetos. 3. Nacho cheese Doritos. 4. Fritos. 5. BBQ Lay’s. 6. Original Lay’s,” Evans posited. “I will not be taking questions.”

It’s worth noting that the Frito Lay company produces all six of these potato chips, and not included in this variety box are the far superior Sun Chips (don’t @ me) or the dark horse, cult favorite Funyuns.

We’ll also forgive Questlove’s classification of his bottom ranked “regular ass Lay’s,” which in my humble opinion could easily compete for the top spot. Can’t beat a classic. And it’s quite clear that this assorted box has nine bags of Original Lays, while there are only three bags each of Cool Ranch, BBQ Lay’s and Fritos. Case closed.

The solemn and gruff Dick Cheney is not someone you would expect to be a chipper, song and dance man, but Adam McKay’s Best Picture-nominated film “Vice” nearly featured a lavish musical number.

McKay directed a sequence in which Steve Carell’s Donald Rumsfeld is showing Christian Bale’s Dick Cheney the ropes inside a D.C. cafeteria, but it was ultimately cut from the movie. Rumsfeld starts to explain that every interaction and meeting could be a win or lose opportunity and chance for advancement, when who should stand up to burst out into song but Brittany Howard, the bluesy frontwoman for rock band Alabama Shakes.

Howard sings about the more underhanded techniques politicians use to get things done, like strategically leaking things to the press but then being publicly outraged about it as a way of preventing people from sitting into meetings.

“Hear only yes, and never no, and I always have the final say so,” Howard belts out during the scene.

Nicholas Britell composed the music for the scene, and Andy Blankenbuehler, the choreographer for “Hamilton,” choreographed the dancing.

Sadly, the sequence didn’t make it into “Vice,” and the film’s editor Hank Corwin told The Hollywood Reporter back in January that much as he loved it, it would’ve weighed down the film at the wrong moment.

“Adam directed the heck out of it; it was really entertaining,” Corwin told THR. “But what we found was, in the context of the film, it weighed the film down at the wrong time. The film wanted to move quickly in that area, and it would have slowed it down. It was very painful [to cut it].”

If only we got to see Christian Bale dust off his old “Newsies” dancing shoes, then maybe the scene would’ve made the final cut.

'Vice' Film Review: Adam McKay's Dick Cheney Biopic Shows the Triumph of Mediocrity

The Russo brothers are directing the film based on the 2018 novel by Nico Walker about a former Iraq War Army medic who turned to robbing banks to pay for his increasing medical bills and cope with his PTSD.

While fictionalized, the book parallels the true story of its author, Walker, who himself was an army medic who was caught and convicted for bank robbery. Walker is currently serving out the last two years of his 11-year prison sentence.

Jessica Goldberg, the creator of the Hulu series “The Path,” adapted the novel for the screen. The Russo’s studio AGBO acquired the rights to the novel in August and plans to shoot the film this summer. They’ll also produce along with AGBO’s Mike Larocca.

Goldberg also previously worked with AGBO in adapting the novel “Exit West.”

Holland will next be seen in the Russo’s “Avengers: Endgame” as Spider-Man, as well as in the Sony follow-up “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” He’s also attached to the sci-fi “Chaos Walking,” to a thriller with Chris Evans called “The Devil All the Time” and to voice roles for “Spies in Disguise,” “The Voyage of Doctor Doolittle” and the next Pixar movie “Onward.”

Both Holland and the Russos are repped by WME, and Holland is also repped by the Curtis Brown Group.

The “Wonder Woman” actress Gadot defended political comments made by actress and model Rotem Sela after Netanyahu lectured her in a social media post, saying that “Israel is not a state for all its citizens.”

“Loving your neighbor as yourself is not a matter of right-left, Jewish-Arab, secular or religious, it is a matter of dialogue, of dialogue for peace, equality and tolerance for each other,” Gadot wrote in her Instagram story in Hebrew Sunday. “The responsibility for such hope is on us to create a brighter future for our children. Rotem, my sister, you’re an inspiration for us all.”

Over the weekend, Sela reacted to an interview with Miri Regev, a minister within Netanyahu’s Likud party. Netanyahu is up for re-election in April, and Sela posted on Instagram that Regev’s comments were anti-Arab.

“What’s the problem with the Arabs? Good heavens, there are also Arab citizens in this country,” Sela wrote on Instagram via The Washington Post. “When the hell will somebody in the government tell the public that Israel is a state of all its citizens and that all people are born equal? And also, that the Arabs are human beings.”

Netanyahu then responded to Sela in his own post on Facebook saying that “Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people — and the Jewish people only.”

“Dear Rotem Sela, I read what you wrote. First of all, an important correction: Israel is not a state for all its citizens. According to a basic law we passed, Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people — and the Jewish people only,” he wrote. “As you wrote, there is no problem with the Arab citizens of Israel — they have equal rights and the Likud government has invested more in the Arab sector than any other government.

“We just want to sharpen the central question of these elections: Should Israel be led by a strong right-wing government headed by myself or by a left-wing government of Yair Lapid and Gantz with the support of the Arab parties? There is no other way for Lapid and Gantz to establish a government and such a government will undermine the security of the state and the citizens. The decision will be made in another month at the ballot box.”

Last year, Israel passed a law that declared Israel a national homeland for Jews and prioritized Jewish-only communities, with critics saying it has left other minority communities marginalized.

Seth Rogen had to be the bearer of bad news to the young cast of “Good Boys,” the R-rated comedy starring 12-year-old Jacob Tremblay. They’re not old enough to watch the red-band trailer for the film.

“It’s just too messed up for kids your age,” Rogen says in a brief sketch ahead of the film’s new trailer. “There’s drugs, there’s violence, there’s swearing, and although we decided it’s okay for you to do those things in the movie, you can’t watch yourselves do them in the trailer.”

As one of the young stars Brady Noon puts it, “that’s f—ed up.”

“You can say that,” Rogen said. “But you can’t watch yourselves say that. That’s f—ed up. Welcome to Hollywood.”

“Good Boys” stars Tremblay, Noon and Keith L. Williams as a trio of best friends in sixth grade who want to learn how to kiss before attending a grown-up party featuring Spin the Bottle, only to wind up ditching school and smuggling drugs across town as they try to evade pursuit by some older teenage girls and the cops. They also make the unwise decision of typing the letters “P-O-R-B” into a search engine.

“Nobody even kissed,” Tremblay says in the trailer. “Well, not on their mouths at least,” Noon replies.

If Tim Burton seemed like an offbeat choice to direct Disney’s live-action adaptation of “Dumbo,” you can bet he found an equally unusual choice to sing the film’s signature lullaby “Baby Mine,” Arcade Fire.

The indie rockers turned the soothing lullaby into a lilting, elegant rock song and even introduced some of their strange instrumentation. Lead singer Win Butler said the song features harp, theremin and an instrument called the Sonovox.

“My mom plays the harp on the track, my brother the theremin, my wife sings and plays drums, and our son even plays the triangle, as well as the rest of our ‘family’ in Arcade Fire,” Win Butler said of the recording in a statement (via Pitchfork). “I will forever relate to the song thinking about the people I hold so dear that are ‘so precious to me.’ Listen for the cameo of my grandpa Alvino’s famous Sonovox at the end.”

“Baby Mine” was first recorded in 1941 for the original “Dumbo” by Frank Churchill, with lyrics by Ned Washington and Betty Noyes. It was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars that year. Since then, other artists such as Allison Strauss, Bette Midler and Bonnie Raitt have performed versions of the song.

Disney’s live-action remake of “Dumbo” stars Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito and opens in theaters March 29.
