Banned ‘Family Guy’ Abortion Episode Will Live on DVD

A banned episode of “Family Guy” will be released as a standalone DVD

Fox decided that an abortion-themed episode of "Family Guy" was too hot for TV, but the studio will be putting the show out on DVD. 

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will be releasing a DVD of the "Family Guy" episode "Partial Terms of Endearment." The episode was originally produced to be a part of the 2009-10 season of, but Fox TV execs nixed it due to a sensitive storyline involving "Family Guy" matriarch Lois Griffin contemplating an abortion after an ill-fated attempt at becoming a surrogate mother. 

DVD's of "Partial Terms of Endearment" will hit store shelves Sept. 28. 

This isn't the first time Fox refused to air an episode of "Family Guy." In 2000, the network balked at broadcasting the episode "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein," where the Griffin family  met a Jewish friend. "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein" was eventually included in the "Family Guy" season three DVD box set and broadcast on Fox in 2004.
