Josh Berger has been named president and managing director of Warner Bros. Entertainment Spain, effective Dec. 1.
WB chairman-CEO Barry Meyer, president-chief operating officer Alan Horn and Richard Fox, executive VP of international, announced the promotion in a joint statement Monday.
Berger had been president and managing director of Warner Bros.’ U.K. and Ireland operations since 2002.
In his newly expanded role, Berger will combine the management of all of Warner Bros. Entertainment’s business activities in Spain with his existing responsibilities for the U.K. and Ireland.
Berger reports through Fox to Meyer and Horn.
He will work closely with the local executives of the WB business units in Spain – Warner Bros. Pictures International, Warner Home Video, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution and Warner Bros. Consumer Products – to develop a growth plan for the market, leveraging operational efficiencies and maximizing cross-divisional, cross-company and third-party opportunities.
Berger, a 20-year Warner Bros. veteran, was managing director for Warner Bros. International Television Distribution in Spain and Portugal in the mid-1990s. During that stint he spearheaded deals with Spanish media giants including Sogecable and Radio Television Española.
