Since it became clear that Hillary Clinton would be the next Democratic presidential nominee, the big question has been: Will she pick former rival Bernie Sanders as her VP and lock in all those “Bernie or Bust” die-hards?
Well, it seems we finally have the answer: Nope.
People “familiar with the process” tell The Wall Street Journal the Vermont senator, who has yet to concede despite having mathematically lost weeks ago, is not being vetted by the Clinton campaign.
Clinton is vetting other people though, including Massachusetts Sen. and designated party Trump spanker Elizabeth Warren, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, Labor secretary Tom Perez, Department of Housing and Urban Development secretary Julian Castro, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, L.A. Congressman Xavier Becerra and Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan.
Both the Sanders and the Clinton campaigns declined TheWrap’s request for comment.
Clinton is expected to make her decision in the days or weeks before the July Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
