Bill O’Reilly Grills Donald Trump on ‘Totally Wrong’ Tweet: ‘You Shouldn’t Be Tweeting’ (Video)

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump went on “The O’Reilly Factor” Monday and faced a surprisingly vibrant grilling from host Bill O’Reilly over his tendency to tweet erroneous facts, most recently about black-on-white murder.

“When you tweet out a thing, and this bothered me, I gotta tell ya,” O’Reilly began. “You tweeted out that whites killed by blacks — these were statistics that you picked up from somewhere — at a rate of 81 percent and that’s totally wrong. Whites killed by blacks is 15 percent,” O’Reilly said.

Trump defended his online post, arguing that he merely retweeted the statistics of an unnamed radio host, “somebody who was supposedly an expert.” He added, “Am I going to check every statistic?”

“You gotta, you’re a presidential contender,” O’Reilly replied.

The Fox News host then offered some very friendly advice to the real estate mogul-turned-politician: “Don’t do this. Don’t put your name on stuff like this, ’cause it makes the other side, it gives them stuff to tell the ill-informed voter that you’re a racist,” O’Reilly suggested. “You’re just handing them the platter.”

He concluded by offering some sweeping advice for the social-media-loving Trump.

“You shouldn’t be tweeting,” O’Reilly said. “Don’t tweet. Give it up for Lent. Lent is coming soon.”

Trump, however, did not seem inclined to heed the advice. “I like it because I can get my point of view out there,” the candidate said.
