Bret Easton Ellis, Catherine Hardwicke Project Gets Order From CW

"Copeland Prep" will revolve around a competitive secondary school that literally turns its students into monsters

Bret Easton Ellis and Catherine Hardwicke are teaming up with the CW.

Getty ImagesThe network has given a script order to "Copeland Prep," a one-hour drama that "American Psycho" author Ellis is writing and executive-producing, an individual with knowledge of the production told TheWrap. "Twilight" director Hardwicke is on board as an executive consultant.

"Copeland Prep" revolves around the premier secondary school in the nation, a school so fiercely competitive that it’s turning its students into monsters — literally — and spreading the disturbing ramifications throughout the town.

The project is being produced by Fake Empire in association with Warner Bros. Television. Fake Empire's Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein are also executive-producing, as is Nicky Weinstock.
