The change comes amid reports that Spears will exit Fox's talent competition "The X Factor."

TMZ reported late Wednesday that Spears, who was reportedly paid $15 million for the "X Factor" judging gig, decided not to return so that she can focus on her music. (Spears is currently working on her eighth studio album.)

Spears' former "X Factor" cohort, record executive Antonio "L.A." Reid, decided not to return to the series late last year, so that he can focus on his career as a music-industry big shot.

Fox had no comment for TheWrap on reports that Spears has decided to leave the show.

Spears joined "The X Factor" for its second season, after a major shakeup that saw the departure of judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as host Steve Jones.

Spears and singer Demi Lovato were brought aboard to replace Scherzinger and Abdul.

During a panel at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena on Tuesday. Fox's entertainment chief Kevin Reilly said that he expected Spears to return for another season of "The X Factor."

Deadline first reported news of Spears signing with CAA.
