Chad Michael Collins to Recur on AwesomenessTV’s ‘Freakish’ (Exclusive)

“Sniper” star heads to Hulu later this year

Chad Michael Collins will recur on AwesomenessTV’s 10-episode digital horror series, “Freakish,” TheWrap has learned.

Hulu has the exclusive rights to the show, which centers on a group of students at a small-town high school who must fight for survival when predatory mutant freaks take over after a meltdown at the local chemical plant.

The Sony “Sniper” franchise star will play a mysterious character that crosses paths with the students in the aftermath of the epidemic. In his 30s, the character is described as having a military man’s experience and a cowboy’s easy-going bearing — all wrapped in a friendly smile.

A man who inspires confidence, he appears to the kids in the high school as their savior, someone with some positive news of the outside and a plan for their escape.

Leo Howard, Liza Koshy, Adam Hicks, Aislinn Paul, Tyler Chase, Meghan Rienks, Melvin Gregg and Hayes Grier star on the series. The cast also includes Chad L. Coleman, Mary Mouser, and Chachi Gonzales.

“Freakish” was created by Beth Szymkowski, who executive produces with by Brian Robbins, Shelley Zimmerman, Matt Lewis, and Chris Grismer. The show is produced by Scott Levine.

The series pilot was written by Szymkowski and directed by Grismer. “Freakish” premieres on Hulu later this year.

Collins’ recent TV credits include “NCIS: New Orleans” and “Once Upon a Time.” He is repped by JDS and Stone Manners Salners Agency.
