Charlie Sheen Invites James Franco to the ‘We’ve Been Fired Hall of Fame’

Exiled “Two and a Half Men” star extends his hand to the Oscar co-host, welcoming him to join an, er, exclusive club

If anyone knows the pain of finding one's self suddenly out of work, it's Charlie Sheen. And now the former "Two and a Half Men" actor, who was bounced from his gig earlier this year, is reaching out to another thespian who's also landed on the unemployment rolls. Sort of.

Sheen — who's currently on the road working out the kinks in his "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option" tour — fired up his Twitter account on Wednesday to welcome "Your Highness" actor James Franco to a very exclusive club, the "Fired Hall of Fame."

"Dear James Franco," Sheen wrote. "Your are [sic] the star of 3rd greatest movie ever made! You are also my hero! Welcome to the we've been fired hall of fame!!"

It's uncertain which of Franco's films that Sheen holds in his holy cinematic trinity.

However, it's a pretty safe bet that the latter part of his tweet referred to a clip published by Funny or Die on Wednesday, which envisions Franco being fired from the lead of 2007's "Knocked Up" by his former "Freaks and Geeks" director Judd Apatow:

Of course, if there's anybody in show business who doesn't have trouble finding work — and perhaps actually has too much on his plate at times — it's Franco. Maybe the seeming workaholic can help Sheen resuscitate his career with a series of buddy comedies.
