The Cinema Guild has picked up U.S. rights for Cannes Grand Prix winner “Once Upon a Time in Anatolia,” the indie distributor announced on Tuesday.
“Once Upon a Time in Anatolia” focuses on a group of men including a prosecutor, doctor, police chief and two murder suspects, who go in search of a missing body in the Anatolian steppes.
Nuri Bilge Ceylan directs. The Turkish director’s past credits include “Three Monkeys” and “Distant.”
The Cinema Guild did not give a premiere date, but said a theatrical release details will be forthcoming.
The deal was negotiated by Ryan Krivoshey of The Cinema Guild with Sezgi Üstün on behalf of producer Zeynep Ozbatur of Zeyno Film.
