Ridley and Tony Scott Developing Cinemax Action Series

New offering about genetically enhanced humans will join “Transporter” series on HBO’s sister station

Cinemax appears to be diving into the series game with both feet.

Following Thursday's news that HBO's sister station is adapting the "Transporter" series for the small screen with producer Luc Besson, the cable station announced it is also developing the series, "The Sector," with Tony and Ridley Scott (left).

Tandem Communications — which will co-produce the series with the brother director-producers' Scott Free production company — announced the new series on Friday. The show "tracks the commander of a paramilitary unit who pursues a dangerous new race of genetically-enhanced humans," according to a release.

"The Sector" is written and created by Aaron and Matthew Benay, with Ridley and Tony Scott serving as executive producers. Simon Mirren, of "Criminal Minds," will serve as an executive producer and show runner.
