Dooner will work with Uva on new initiatives with Hispanic viewers and oversee financial planning, strategic initiatives and business development for Telemundo and mun2.

“Marlene’s impressive experience navigating and analyzing the media business will help us drive new opportunities and partnerships in the U.S. Hispanic community across the company,” said Uva. “NBCUniversal’s portfolio reaches more than 90 percent of all Hispanics and I have no doubt Marlene will play an integral role in expanding our offerings and connections to the fastest growing segment of the population.”

Dooner joined Comcast Corporation in 1995, and for the past 18 years has led the company’s Investor Relations, overseeing its relationships with investors as it has transformed into a Fortune 50 global media and technology company. She repositioned Comcast after its 2002 acquisition of AT&T Broadband, which increased Comcast Cable’s customer base from 8.5 million to nearly 22 million. She also led financial communications through Comcast’s 2011 acquisition of NBCUniversal.

Comcast said it will begin a national search for a head of Investor Relations in the coming weeks.
