Confirmed: Chris Zylka to Play Flash Thompson in ‘Spider-Man’

The actor will play Peter Parker’s high school nemesis in Columbia’s reboot

It's a rumor no longer.

Chris Zylka will play Flash Thompson, Peter Parker's high school nemesis in Marc Webb's "Spider-Man" reboot, an individual familiar with the project has confirmed to TheWrap.

While the Thompson character is a football player who gets his kicks picking on "Puny Parker," he also happens to be a great admirer of Spider-Man.

Zylka joins Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in the Columbia movie, which co-stars Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Rhys Ifans, Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Julianne Nicholson and Annie Parisse.

The strapping young actor recently co-starred in Gregg Araki's "Kaboom" and he has also wrapped David R. Ellis' untitled 3D shark thriller.

Zylka is represented by WME and Simmons & Scott Entertainment.
