Not every talent was riding the star-shuttle “Patron Train” to San Diego this weekend, where actress Christian Serratos was still talking “Lost” while riding the rails, 26 months after its sign-off.
After Thursday’s “Expendables 2” panel went head-to-head with “Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II,” Arnold Schwarzenegger escaped from the 619 and was back in L.A. at Bagatelle by Friday night.
Despite the ex-governor's dining proclivities, as well as dinner groupings like Ryan Seacrest, Michael Eisner and ex-Dodger disaster Frank McCourt, the Saturday daytime brunch remains the marquee time slot at the STK-adjacent La Cienega hotspot. Under the watchful eye of veteran hospitality executive Rusty Marrone, electronic music luminaries were dropping in for impromptu performances before jetting off to same-day gigs at the Electric Daisy Carnival last month. That's probably why Arnold chose to show up at night.
Perhaps out of Con-envy, the never press-shy Corey Feldman marked his 41st birthday by donning a disco vampire costume while playing with his rock band before an outdoor screening of the horror classic in Exposition Park Saturday night during the Street Food Cinema series.
Also playing outdoors was a massively more successful Los Angeles-based group, Foster the People, which recently capped a huge year on the road, They played at one of the choice poolside concert slots at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas. Pranked by their crew with a playback of Bruce Hornsby’s “The Way It Is” stepping on their top hit “Pumped Up Kicks,” the guys picked up their instruments and played into the prank-song, a moment captured on many of the Samsung Galaxy SIII’s that were floating amid the backstage VIP viewing platform.
Meanwhile, back in Hollywood during Saturday’s golden hour, Fox’s popular NFL Insider Jay Glazer, the definitive Anderson Cooper media celeb of the NFL, was enjoying the ramp-up for his TV season that begins next month. Atop the residences at the W Hollywood — not the Vegas-style Drai’s poolside disaster but the country club-esque sky park crowning the other tower — Glazer shared the love at a barbeque for his off-season MMA trainee and Jacksonville Jaguar Marcedes Lewis. Sinqua Walls, star of MTV's “Teen Wolf," was on the scene at the casual twilight mixer as well.
Also sneaking in on social season before her TV season resumes, Brooke Burke warmed up the boutique Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood during Friday’s happy hour with a very un-Comic Con and female-friendly cocktail soiree for Intimint intimate apparel.
