The CW has picked up half-hour comedy series “Significant Mother” to series, the network announced Friday.

The project, from Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, stars Josh Zuckerman (“90210”), Krista Allen (“What About Brian”), Jonathan Silverman (“Weekend at Bernie’s”), Emma Fitzpatrick (“The Social Network”) and Jay Ali (“The Fosters”).

Production begins soon, and the show will air as part of the network’s summer 2015 slate.

Story follows budding Portland restaurateur Nate (Zuckerman), whose world is turned upside down when he comes back from a business trip to find his lothario best friend and roommate, Jimmy, is now dating his recently separated mother, Lydia (Allen).

To make matters worse, Nate’s previously disinterested dad, Harrison (Silverman) is now determined to win Lydia back and isn’t afraid to use Nate to get what he wants.

Erin Cardillo & Richard Keith wrote the series and also serve as executive producers alongside Tripp Reed and Les Morgenstein.

“Significant Mother” was initially developed as a digital series for CW Seed, The CW’s digital studio, before being ordered to series for the broadcast network.
