“Dancing With the Stars” had a weird episode last night due to positive COVID-19 tests. Whether that added or removed intrigue, “The Voice” remained Monday’s primetime king.
Due to NFL preemptions in Los Angeles (ABC) and Las Vegas (NBC) for the Chargers vs. Raiders game, the below early Nielsen numbers for ABC and NBC should be considered subject to extra adjustment. The Chargers won the “Monday Night Football” game 28-14.
“MNF” airs nationally on ESPN and ESPN2.
NBC was first in ratings with a 0.7 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 5.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Voice” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. averaged a 0.9 rating and 7.2 million total viewers. “Ordinary Joe” at 10 had a 0.4 rating and 2.8 million total viewers.
ABC was second in ratings with a 0.6 and third in total viewers with 4.4 million. “Dancing With the Stars” from 8 to 10 averaged a 0.7 rating and 4.8 million total viewers. At 10, “The Good Doctor” got a 0.4 rating and 3.8 million total viewers.
Cheryl Burke and Cody Rigsby — who are both fully vaccinated but last week tested positive for COVID-19 — participated in last night’s “Britney Night” remotely from their respective homes on a split screen. The quarantined “DWTS” team did a jazz combo to Britney Spears’ “Gimme More” and received a 18/30 score for their separate-but-together, out-of-the-ballroom effort.
Appearing over video chat once their virtual partner dance was over, they told “DWTS” host Tyra Banks and the judges how excited they were to be able to keep competing under the guidance of doctors.
CBS and Fox tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.5. CBS was first in total viewers with 6 million, Fox was fourth with 3.2 million.
For CBS, “The Neighborhood” at 8 received a 0.6 rating and 5.3 million total viewers. “Bob Hearts Abishola” at 8:30 had a 0.5 rating and 5 million total viewers. At 9, “NCIS” put up a 0.6 rating and 7.6 million total viewers. “NCIS: Hawai’i” at 10 closed out primetime with a 0.4 rating and 5.4 million total viewers.
For Fox, “9-1-1” at 8 drew a 0.8 rating and 5 million total viewers. At 9, “The Big Leap” settled for a 0.2 rating and 1.4 million total viewers.
The CW was fifth in ratings with a 0.1 and in total viewers with 437,000. “Roswell, New Mexico” at 8 got a 0.1 rating and 481,000 total viewers. A rerun followed.
