David Arquette Gets Teary Over Sister Patricia During Oscars Interview (Video)

“I’m so proud of you because you’re one of the realest people in the world,” the “Scream” actor tells his Academy Award-nominated sibling

David Arquette wore his emotions on his sleeve on Sunday as he interviewed sister Patricia Arquette ahead of the Oscars.

Patricia is nominated for her work in Richard Linklater‘s “Boyhood,” making her the first member of the Arquette clan to be so recognized. During the interview, David asked how the pair’s mother, Brenda “Mandi” Arquette, who died in 1997 after a battle with breast cancer, informed her character in the film.

“Our mom went back to school,” Patricia offered. “Our mom also taught. Mom really did everything for us.”

During the interview, David heaped praise on his sister, calling her “one of the most realest people in the world.”

“I’m so proud of you because you’re one of the realest people in the world and that makes you one of the realest actresses in the world,” David said. “And just everything you do is an inspiration to me, our family and we couldn’t be prouder.”

The “Scream” actor also noted, “I hope you know how proud I am of you and how proud our parents must be of you.”
