Executive’s background includes stints at Yahoo! and Edelman Worldwide

DreamWorks Animation has appointed Dan Berger as Head of Corporate Communications, the studio announced Wednesday.

Berger, a PR vet of over 15 years, starts at the company’s Glendale, California, headquarters on July 27.

“Dan is an accomplished communications executive who has spent the past 15 years working in every corner of the media business, which makes him the perfect fit for this important role,” CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said.

Berger’s resume includes stints at Yahoo, Edelman Worldwide and GCI Group.

“DreamWorks Animation is not only one of the entertainment industry’s most forward-thinking and innovative companies, but also one of the world’s most trusted and beloved corporate brands,” Berger said.

DWA recently tapped “Up In The Air” director Jason Reitman to write and direct “Beekle,” an adaptation of an award-winning children’s book.
