Emily Blunt will lend her voice to the upcoming “My Little Pony” movie, Hasbro and Lionsgate announced Friday.

It is not known at this time what Blunt’s character will be exactly, but she will be a new character. She joins previously announced voice stars Kristin Chenoweth, Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball.

The film is currently set for global theatrical release on November 3, 2017 with Jayson Theissen directing and Hasbro executives Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis as producers. It is being produced by Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures with Lionsgate distributing and marketing the film globally, with the exception of China.

In the film, a new dark force threatens Ponyville, and the Mane 6 – Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity – embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.

Theissen will direct from a screenplay by Meghan McCarthy, writer and producer for the “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” animated series, which debuted earlier this year on the Discovery Family TV channel.
