Guy Pearce isn't worried that he'll end up in the doghouse over his howler of an acceptance speech at Sunday's Emmys.

While accepting his award for the miniseries "Mildred Pierce," Pearce expounded at length about his sex scenes with co-star Kate Winslet, at one point thanking her for letting him "insert myself into your world."

Asked by reporters afterward what his wife thought of his raunchy paean to Winslet, Pearce took it in stride.

"I'm not sure; I haven't asked her, but I'm sure she'll tell me when I get home," Pearce offered. "I think she'll find it funny."

Pearce was less certain about how he ranks among Winslet's on-screen lovers. Quizzed on whether the actress had told him how he holds up against her "Titanic" co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, Pearce displayed a touch of humility.

"I keep asking her, but she she refuses to tell me; so im sure there's some bad news in there," Pearce admitted. "Maybe she''ll tell me if I get her drunk enough tonight."

If not, perhaps he can put his tongue to good use with yet another raunchy speech.
