“Empire” dominated Twitter conversation during premiere week of the fall 2015-16 TV season, according to findings from the 140-character social-media platform.

The hit Fox hip hop drama was tweeted about nearly 2 million times around its Season 2 premiere on Sept. 23.

Twitter measured activity surrounding shows’ airing windows, plus three hours prior and four hours after.

Coming in a distant second for the week was ABC’s “Scandal,” which generated 452,000 tweets around its Season 5 premiere, while Fox’s “Scream Queens” series premiere came in third, generating 409,000 tweets.

The rest of Shonda Rhimes‘ TGIT Thursday night drama block rounded out the Top 5, with “How to Get Away With Murder” generating 362,000 tweets and “Grey’s Anatomy” tweeted about 323,000 times.

ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” had a two-night premiere, and both made the Top 15, as did NBC’s “The Voice.”

VH1’s “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood” premiere was the only cable show to crack the Top 15 list of most-tweeted shows, generating 156,000 tweets and coming in at No. 8.

Other returning shows making the Top 15 were ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” and NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU,” while ABC’s “The Muppets” and NBC’s “Heroes Reborn” rounded out the new scripted shows.

The premiere of “Late Show With Stephen Colbert” was the sole late-night show to crack the list, generating 50,000 tweets at No. 15.
