There’s nothing wrong with 50 Cent that a warm embrace — and maybe some time on a therapist’s couch — can’t fix. At least, that’s the word from “Empire” star Ta’Rhonda Jones.
Following the “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” rapper’s latest outburst comparing his Starz show “Power” and Fox’s “Empire,” Jones told TMZ that 50 Cent is a “weirdo.”
“I think on this side, we’re more mature. It’s just 50, though. It’s him. he’s a weirdo,” Jones opined. “I think he needs a hug, you know what I mean? Dude needs a hug, because he just keeps it going on and on and on.”
In his latest shot against “Empire,” the rapper — who has accused the show of lifting from his own in the past — posted an image of “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson, along with an image from an article stating that the ratings for “Empire” fell after its Season 3 premiere.
“Well look at the bright side at least,” the rapper wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “You can eat your trophies.”
Henson replied with an Instagram post of her own, touting “Empire” as the top-rated scripted program on broadcast television in the key 18-49 demographic.
Referring to the rapper as “loose change,” Henson encouraged people to do “REAL research!!!”
But as far as Jones is concerned, there’s no comparison between the two series, and 50 Cent needs to cool his jets.
“These are two different shows talking about two different things; why is it that you’re always trying to compare your show with ours?” Jones asked of the rapper, before offering her theory on the cause of his ongoing beef.
“I think it’s an insecurity issue. It’s always something with him,” Jones offered. “I just say he’s a weirdo, and if he needs help, I know a good therapist and, you know, he’ll listen.”
