Ex-Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm Joins Current TV With ‘War Room’

She will follow Keith Olbermann’s “Countdown” beginning in January

Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm will follow Keith Olbermann's "Countdown" on Current TV beginning in January with a new hourlong show, "The War Room."

The show, which will be produced from Current's San Francisco headquarters, will focus on news of the day and include commentary from political insiders, campaign veterans, and Silicon Valley innnovators. The 9 p.m. show will cap a nightly block of commentary beginning with Cenk Uyger's "The Young Turks" at 7 p.m., which launches next month, and "Countdown With Keith Olbermann" at 8.

"Jennifer Granholm is a supremely talented and dedicated public servant whose deep understanding of the issues makes her one of the most relevant voices in politics today," said former Vice President Al Gore, Current's chairman and co-founder. "She would be an asset to any news organization, and I am delighted that she has chosen Current TV as her new home.  I have no doubt that her ability to illuminate and provide context to the issues of the 2012 election will prove to be of inestimable value to Current’s audience as well as to the public policy discussion surrounding the election.”

Granholm, a distinguished practitioner of law and public policy at UC Berkeley, recently co-authored "A Governor's Story: The Fight for Jobs and America's Economic Future," with her husband and leadership consultant, Daniel G. Mulhern.
