The first teaser poster for Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" has hit the Internet, and while it raises more questions than it answers — which is the point, really — there are some hints of chaos and rampant destruction to come. While the poster might, at first glance, look like some kind of hellish Rorschach test, a closer inspection of the details reveals a row of skyscrapers with debris tumbling from the sky.
Is Batman's beloved Gotham City poised for an apocalyptic rain of crumbling buildings?
Moviegoers will have ample time to consider the implications, as the movie — which sees Christian Bale reprising his heroic role, Anne Hathaway becoming the latest Catwoman, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt coming on board as a Gotham City cop working on a special assignment from Commissioner Gordon — won't hit theaters until July 20, 2012. Hopefully, that will give the citizens of Gotham time to stock up on hard hats, because it looks like they're going to need them.
