Fogelson Honored by National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Universal Pictures chairman will be recognized at September’s Dinner of Champions

Universal Pictures Chairman Adam Fogelson will be honored at the 36th annual Dinner of Champions, sponsored by and benefiting the Southern California Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS), the organization announced Thursday.

The dinner, which will take place on September 27, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, will raise funds for research and treatment of the disease.

“Universal Pictures has been a generous supporter of the NMSS for more than a decade and we’re proud to be honoring our friend, Adam Fogelson,” NMSS Southern California Chairman Tom Sherak said in a statement. “Adam represents a powerful leader of change, not only through his dedication in the entertainment industry, but also for the needs of people. I am deeply humbled by his commitment to make a positive difference for those who suffer from multiple sclerosis.”

The Dinner of Champions has raised $39 million in the last 17 years. Sherak, along with producers Byron Allen and Joe Roth, will once again chair the 2010 Dinner.

Previous honorees have included many with Hollywood connections such as  Peter Chernin, Amy Pascal, Bill Mechanic, Bob and Harvey Weinstein, Oren Aviv and most recently, Rob Friedman.
