Fox Business Canceling ‘The Independents’ Hosted by ‘Kennedy’ (Exclusive)

Libertarian program premiered in 2013; host and former MTV VJ “Kennedy” to launch new program on FBN

Fox Business has canceled the libertarian-oriented program “The Independents,” an insider familiar with the situation told TheWrap.

Fox Business confirmed the cancellation to TheWrap. The last episode of the show aired Jan. 9.

The program featured a panel of hosts including former MTV VJ Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery alongside contributors Matt Welch and Kmele Foster.

But Kennedy will not be leaving the network: On Jan. 26, she’ll debut her own program, self-titled “Kennedy” at 10 p.m. ET on Fox Business. The show will concentrate on water-cooler topics, including politics, business and culture, and will air Monday-Friday.

The premiere of “Kennedy” is part of the network’s new primetime, featuring reality series “Strange Inheritance” hosted by Jamie Colby, which will air before it at 9 p.m. ET.
