Fox News Host Defends Coverage, Blasts CNN Competitor

FNC’s Greta Van Susteren accuses CNN’s Howard Kurtz of not checking his facts

First the Wall Street Journal decried misinformed “liberal” attacks on the News Corp. empire — and now Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren is doing the same.

Van Susteren was apparently peeved that CNN’s Howard Kurtz criticized Fox for not covering the phone-hacking scandal plaguing News Corp. As she was quick to remind Kurtz in a post on her blog, she has been reporting on the story — and in a "responsible manner," too.

“Dear Howie, On your CNN show today in which you were critical of Fox News Channel and what you say is Fox’s lack of coverage on the hacking scandal, you neglected to mention that on ON THE RECORD at 10pm we have, in our last two live broadcasts, covered the news story,” Van Sustern wrote.

“Your omission today skews a fair analysis,” she added.

Van Susteren suggested this was repeated problem and that she sent Kurtz a public message because she was tired of correcting him in private.
