Fox News Interview With Bin Laden Killer Scores Record Ratings

Part two of “The Man Who Killed Usama Bin Laden” draws 3,370,000 viewers and 586,000 25-54 demo viewers

Fox News’ interview with the Seal Team 6 member who says he fired the shot that killed Osama bin Laden drew record ratings for the network.

The second night of the special — which aired at 10p.m. ET Wednesday — drew 3,370,000 viewers and 586,000 25-54 demo viewers, the highest-rated documentary in Fox News’ 18-year history.

In the special, Robert O’Neill — who revealed himself as bin Laden’s killer the night before — explained that he felt going on-camera and recounting the mission would provide final closure to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11.

Compared to the first night of the special, part two was up 25 percent in viewers and 10 percent in the demo.

TheWrap spoke to Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy — who interviewed O’Neill — ahead of the exclusive interview.

“I have been working on this for a long time,” Doocy said. “Honestly, it’s a career highlight for me; I’m just lucky to be the one here who gets to share the story.”
