The 3D space epic “Gravity” will cross the $300 million mark at the worldwide box office Wednesday, Warner Bros. said.
The Alfonso Cuaron-directed thriller, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, also passed the $175 million mark at the domestic box office since opening on Oct. 4. It has been the No. 1 film globally for the past three weekends.

Imax and 3D screenings have provided a huge boost for “Gravity.” Overseas, 3D has accounted for 77 percent of the grosses; domestically, it’s an eye-popping 81 percent. Imax has brought in more than $50 million globally.
Russia is the leading foreign territory with $14.2 million, followed by Australia ($11.8 milion) and Germany ($11.2 million.
It has several major territories yet to come. “Gravity” opens Wednesday in France, in the U.K. on Nov. 8, China on Nov. 20 and in Japan on Dec. 18.
