On Thursday, the “Grey’s Anatomy” fandom will finally learn the answer to the burning question: What would Yang say if she saw runaway groom Burke again?

Sandra Oh teased the impending return via Twitter in which she posted a photo of him in the background and wrote, “Yes indeedy, Burke is back.”

Isaiah Washington reprises his role as Dr. Preston Burke for the first time since exiting in 2007 after some on-set drama in which he referred to castmate T.R. Knight as a “faggot.”

On-screen, the character Burke didn’t come off any better. He broke up with Oh’s Christina Yang just before she was to walk down the aisle on the Season 3 finale.

Washington’s return is linked to Oh’s upcoming departure from the series, according to creator Shonda Rhimes.

“It’s important to me that Cristina’s journey unfolds exactly as it should,” Rhimes said in a statement in March. “Burke is vital to that journey — he gives her story that full-circle moment we need to properly say goodbye to our beloved Cristina Yang.”
