James Gunn Reveals ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’ Has Five Post-Credits Scenes

Marvel sequel screened early for some lucky critics on Monday night

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” director James Gunn took to Twitter on Monday to reveal that the Marvel film will have five (!) post-credits scenes.

“Well, five, actually,” Gunn responded to a Screen Rant article stating the film starring Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana has four.

Last month, Gunn told a fan to stay and watch through the entire end credits of the movie, “unless you have to rush out because your mother is dying.” Of course, this should have come as no surprise to anyone, given that MCU movies typically either include a mid or post-credits scene — or both.

The movie screened early for some lucky critics on Monday night. We all knew it was going to be fun and hilarious — but many critics say the film also played heavy on emotion.

Pratt, Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen GillanVin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Kurt Russell and Glenn Close all star in the follow-up to the hit Marvel original.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” was a major worldwide success when it premiered in Aug. 2014. The film grossed over $770 million at the box office, with more than $330 million of that coming from the U.S.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” opens May 5.
