Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Billy Crudup have been cast in Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s upcoming morning show drama at Apple, an individual with knowledge of production tells TheWrap.

Aniston and Witherspoon executive produce and lead the cast of the untitled project, along with Steve Carell.

Here’s the drama series’ official logline: Providing an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, the series explores the unique challenges faced by the women (and men) who carry out this daily televised ritual.

Mbatha-Raw (“Black Mirror,” A Wrinkle in Time) will play Hannah Shoenfeld, the whip-smart and charming head booker of talent. Crudup (“Gypsy,” Almost Famous) will star as Cory Ellison, the forward-thinking president of the news division at the network.

Aniston and Kristin Hahn executive produce for Echo Films, with Witherspoon and Lauren Levy Neustadter executive producing under their Hello Sunshine banner and Michael Ellenberg for Media Res, which also serves as the studio. Mimi Leder (“On the Basis of Sex,” “ER,” “Deep Impact”), will direct and executive produce.

The drama is written and executive produced by Kerry Ehrin (“Bates Motel,” “Friday Night Lights”), who will serve as showrunner. Brian Stelter consults on the project, with his book “Top of the Morning” providing additional background material.
