Hasbro Inks ‘Transformers: Prime’ Creator to Exclusive Development Deal

Exclusive four year pact with Jeff Kline will help bolster the toy company’s television arm

In an effort to bolster its television presence, Hasbro Studios announced Thursday that it has signed writer-executive producer Jeff Kline to a series development and producing deal.

The four-year agreement relates exclusively to children’s television animated shows.

Hasbro has moved aggressively into the television space with the launch last year of the Hub. Geared to children, the television network is a co-production with Discovery Communications. Many of the programs are based on Hasbro toys and board games.

Among Kline's development and showrunning credits are "Jackie Chan Adventures," "Men In Black: The Series" and "Roughnecks: The Starship Troopers Chronicles."

Kline has past experience working with two of Hasbro's highest profile brands and is currently the executive producer and co-developer of both "Transformers: Prime" and "G.I. Joe: Renegades." Both series are for The Hub and the international market.
