The network has placed a pilot order for "People in New Jersey," a half-hour comedy about an adult brother and sister who puzzle over the big and small mysteries of life while living in New Jersey.

The pilot will be written by Bruce Eric Kaplan, who serves as a co-executive producer and writer on HBO's "Girls." (He also wrote and co-executive produced the network's "Six Feet Under.")

"Up in the Air" and "Juno" director Jason Reitman will direct the pilot.

Reitman and Kaplan will also executive-produce the project, along with "Saturday Night Live" boss Lorne Michaels. Helen Estabrook, of Reitman's Right of Way Films, will also executive-produce, as will "30 Rock" associate producer Andrew Singer.
