HBO’s ‘Girls’ to End After Season 6

Lena Dunham’s hit comedy, which is about to debut its fifth season, will end after one more

“Girls” will end after Season 6, TheWrap has learned.

The Lena Dunham comedy is preparing to premiere its fifth season this spring.

“Girls” stars Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Adam Driver. The show premiered in 2012 and follows a group of girls in their 20s as they maneuver through life.

Dunham has previously said she always envisioned the show lasting six season, with the writer, director and star herself having started working on the series when she was 23. Season 6 would see the girls turn 30.

“I started working on this show when I was 23, and I’m going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s, and then I go off into the world,” Dunham previously told Elvis Duran during a radio interview.

The show’s fifth season will return on Feb. 21 at 10 p.m. ET.
