Hollywood Remembers Bobbi Kristina Brown: ‘Peace at Last’

Oprah Winfrey, Ava DuVernay and Isaiah Washington speak out about the 22-year-old’s untimely death

The death of Bobbi Kristina Brown has inspired sadness and anger across social media from notables in show business and the music industry.

The 22-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown died Sunday evening at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Ga.

“She seemed to be caught in the web of celebrity upon arrival,” wrote “Selma” director Ava DuVernay on her Twitter account. “Twenty two years. A sad end. May the sister have peace now.”

“Peace at last,” said Oprah, who previously interviewed Bobbi Kristina and Whitney on her eponymous talk show.

Best-selling author Terry McMillan, who wrote the novel and screenplay for “Waiting to Exhale,” in which Houston starred, called the tragedy “a damn shame. #BobbiKristina I’m saddened and angry. This should not have happened.”

Many onlookers, including Trans journalist Janet Mock, Melissa Rivers and fashion designer Christian Siriano shared prayers and heartfelt messages as well.
