Tonga’s flag bearer stole the show on Friday as he seemed to have forgotten his uniform during Rio’s opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics.
Pita Taufatofua, who will compete in taekwondo, had the internet swooning as he marched shirtless (and covered in oil) during the procession of the nations.
“BREAKING: Tonga has now has a shortage of oil. Please donate,” joked one Twitter user.
BuzzFeed Canada tweeted: “Sup Tonga, come here often?”
Taufatofua is Tonga’s first-ever taekwondo athlete, but lives in Brisbane, Australia. Other than tons of oil and a ripped torso, Tonga’s newly-minted hunk also seems to have a big heart, working with homeless kids and modeling in his spare time, according to People.
It’s safe to say that Tonga could be seeing spike in tourism really soon.
If you’re wondering, a ticket to Tonga will set you back about $1075.
Safe travels.
