Through interviews with members of his inner circle, “I Am: Heath Ledger” will chronicle the late Australian actor’s movie career, which included “The Dark Knight,” “Brokeback Mountain” and “The Patriot.”

Ledger won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as The Joker in “The Dark Knight.” He was previously nominated for “Brokeback Mountain,” in which he starred opposite Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ledger died in 2008 from taking a mixture of prescription drugs. He was 28.
