Ice Cube is set to star in the comedy “Vacation Friends,” a film that was originally set to have Chris Pratt and wife Anna Faris in the leading roles, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

Steve Pink will direct the Fox project, to be produced by Todd Garner, who worked with Ice Cube on “Are We Done Yet?”

A female lead to play opposite the rapper turned actor has not yet been cast.

No word on why comedy couple Pratt and Faris dropped out. The white-hot actor is currently filming “Passengers” with Jennifer Lawrence. Faris is the star of CBS’ Emmy-award-winning, “Mom.”

Cube will next appear alongside “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Charlie Day in “Fist Fight,” about a mild-mannered teacher (Day) who is challenged to a brawl by a much tougher colleague (Cube).
