Ice Cube and his “Ride Along” director Tim Story are going to reteam for a new kind of ride — Universal’s “Humbug.”
The script, a new take on Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol,” will star the rapper-turned-actor as an Ebenezer Scrooge-esque real estate mogul who is visited by ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
Todd R. Jones and Earl Ritchey Jones wrote the screenplay, with Story attached to direct. Cube will produce alongside both Joneses and Jeff Kwatinetz.
In addition to “Ride Along,” Story and Cub previously collaborated on the original “Barbershop.”
All parties are represented by UTA. Cube is also represented by Prospect Park and Ziffren Brittenham, and Story by Field Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham.
