IM Global Names Chris Bosco Chief Operating Officer

The former CME and MGM/UA executive will help guide the company’s international expansion

Former MGM/United Artists executive Chris Bosco has joined IM Global as chief operating officer, the company announced Thursday.

Chris Bosco 028_1Before joining IM Global, Bosco was based in Prague where he was responsible for operations and finance for the content and distribution division of Central European Media Enterprises. Previously, Bosco was executive vice-president of finance at United Artists and MGM, where he was responsible for worldwide finance including film and TV development, production, distribution and marketing.

“As we grow IM Global into an increasingly diverse business with operations on four continents, bringing on board a seasoned operational executive like Chris Bosco is a fundamental next step,” said Stuart Ford, founder and chief executive of the financing, distribution, and sales company.

“Chris’ background in studio operations, corporate finance and international distribution makes him a very strong addition to our senior executive team,” he said.

Bosco said he was looking forward to helping IM Global take its next step.

“This is an extremely exciting time for IM Global as they venture towards new growth strategies and expanding their global footprint,” he said in a statement.

IM Global has produced and financed six films in 2013 and is a partner on Fox’s upcoming “Walking with Dinosaurs.” It also scored at the foreign box office with “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” and “Before Midnight.” IM Global also opened a Beijing office this year and launched the Latin American film sales venture Mundial.
